A surprisingly great keyboard — my first mechanical and one I’ll always recommend
I bought this keyboard back in 2021, and it stayed with me all the way until last month. It was my very first mechanical keyboard, and I have to admit—it was really good. Don’t let the price fool you: the build quality, feel, and overall performance are genuinely impressive for the cost. Recently, I customized it by changing the keycaps and switches, and it felt brand new again. That alone says a lot about how well this board holds up over time. Unfortunately, its journey with me ended when I accidentally damaged the charging port while trying to plug it in. I must have shifted it internally. I tried to get it repaired, but was told it would be better to buy a new one. Honestly, it made me really sad because this keyboard had been with me for years and never disappointed me. To anyone considering it: don’t think twice. It’s a very solid keyboard, and I would recommend it with my eyes closed.

Factory foamed, lubed, and works with Linux - perfect!
The RK68 is a great beginner board if you're just getting into the hobby of mechanical keyboards. It's easy to mod, comes with all the bells and whistles stock, and works for any office/personal environment. I bought this with the intention to make this my portable keyboard, as it was lightweight and had all the features I needed. This is used between a PC, MAC, and a couple of linux boxes. It connects fine to all devices, even when running bluetooth. Haven't tested with my Raspberry Pi, but I don't think it's going to be an issue there. It's 2023 and surprisingly only a few are mentioning that this already comes foamed and lubed out of the box. When replacing the keycaps and switches, i noticed that the stabs had a decent amount of lube on them, so there was no rattle. Even the spacebar was quiet - they had filled the plate gap with foam to prevent dust and minimize rattle. Removing the keycaps and switches, I could see there was definitely foam between the plate and PCB - a pleasant surprise. The back also doesn't sound as hollow, so I'm guessing they added foam to fill the space where the battery is, as well. I was already happy with the sound and feel, so I skipped the tape mod and only replaced the keycaps and swapped out the reds for Gateron Milky Yellows. It sounds and feels fantastic. Just calling out that this is LED (single blue light) and not RGB. It’s also dual mode - Bluetooth and wired - with no USB dongle. So if both items are important for you, look elsewhere. This board has the potential to sound however you like, depending on how you tune it. It all comes down to preference. But for what you're getting out of the box and for that price - it's a great everyday keyboard at an incredible starter value with a lot of potential down the road.

For it's price it's honestly pretty awesome.
Honestly for it's price, it's a very nice setup. The RK Red switches are IMO not bad once you add some lube to them. They are very cheap starting price so you can customize or mod them however you'd like and not feel too bad about it if something breaks while also having a very reliable keyboard underneath. My biggest complaint is that out of the box this keyboard has absolutely no weight to it. I took a metal support and cut a piece off and it fit comfortably in the bottom of the case and the foam holds it in place so there's 0 rattling. The keyboard feels WAY more premium after doing this. You could also pour silicone into the base to dampen sound and add weight. Again, it's a cheap keyboard so who cares if you're trying out something new and it isn't great. I think I have 5 of them so far and each one is a little different. It's nice to have comparisons of the same product imo so you have clear data and I've so far just been a big fan of this keyboard for it's price and ability to do what I need. EDIT: One problem, and I'd consider it a semi-major problem, I've noticed is that when you are using the Keyboard over Bluetooth, it has a tendency to not send keypresses. I thought maybe it was interference from the keyboard and the computer since there is so much 2.4ghz present nowadays, but I happened to be on a rural road with nothing to do so I figured I'd test out the keyboard with my laptop in the car. Even when I am no where near any interference, the keyboard still has a hard time keeping a strong connection with my device. That being said, I mostly use the keyboard wired and I have NEVER noticed a missed keystroke when it was plugged in, so still I think this keyboard is a tremendous value, but understand that the bluetooth functionality is really not well implemented and there are no dedicated dongles for you to make this a wireless keyboard essentially making the wireless capability unusable without severe frustration.

Very useful, and functional keyboard.
I have greatly enjoyed using and modifying this keyboard. Currently it is primarily outfitted with the stock switches and keycaps, save for spacebar, left shift, left tab, backspace, enter, and the arrow-keys which are Akko matcha greens. The stock keycaps I received are the clicky blue switches that have tactile feedback. I will be replacing these stock switches at some point to something that will match the matcha greens in a more flattering way. However these switches feel like decent quality, and you receive a few spares in case some fail. I use this keyboard primarily for work as an IT person, which I feel it excels at as you can quickly swap from up to three bluetooth devices, enabling the user to quickly switch back and forth without having to worry about a dongle or power chord. Battery lasts quite a while, I have only charged it once since purchasing at this point. Did have an issue where certain keys would not respond, but i was able to remedy the situation by holding function and spacebar for a few seconds. Would recommend this keyboard! Returning after I have upgraded the stock switches, I have been astounded by how this keyboard performs with upgraded switches. I chose Lavender Purple Pro V3s because they were a pretty close mach to the Matcha Green Pros that I installed previously. The keyboard performs very nicely and feels very great with these switches!

Let me open by saying I own a few too many keyboards, I already have a Das Keyboard with Blue switches, a Filco with Reds and an ROG STRIX Flare with Reds too, I also previously had a small form factor keyboard with browns (which sadly gave up the ghost leading to this purchase). It looks amazing on the desk with the mat finish. These switches just feel 'nicer' to me than standard browns having done a direct comparison, I can't really quantify it but they just make typing a joy. Once you get your head around how the programable layers work (5 minutes in the manual which is very clear) it's a joy to use. Personally I prefer the smaller form factor as it leaves me more room for my mouse hand, and I type numbers using the top row, though I understand that isn't for everyone. Only slight annoyance is a distinctive 'rattle' from the space bar - but it really is very subtle and the spacebar appears to be otherwise well stablised. For the money this absoloutely has to be the best 'bang for your buck' mechanical keyboard. NB: I haven't tried the bluetooth functionality as I have no real need for it.

Everything works nicely but I didn't expect the first keys to be like this cause I didn't look at the pictures close enough. They still work but it's just a hassle to press ctrl+fn and then press it again to untoggle. Also reminder that this isn't the rgb one it's the one with one light cause I kinda didn't read it properly. And the 'white' light doesn't match the rest of my setup well.

PROS: - Manual is short but it covers all the Fn key functionality nicely. - The light effects look real fancy for those who care (I only use it as feedback for on/off and device switching) - Physical build of the keyboard is solid. This is my first mechanical keyboard, to me keys feel great to type with! - Battery lasts for about a week for me (keep in mind my LEDs are off), this is much higher than the other options I've come across. CONS: - No battery level indicator, that's the biggest drawback for me. - Beware, no information on their website or manual on how to contact support.. keep that in mind. Overall, not having the option to contact customer support for defects is not acceptable, but I suppose you could return it if there's a hardware defect. It's a great keyboard for me, let's just hope the keyboard stands the test of time. Edit: The top row function key behavior for Windows vs Mac modes seems glitchy, but it's just unintuitive. OSX expects Function keys (F1, F2, etc.) and converts those to the shortcuts by default so I'm a bit confused why the top row swap was necessary on the keyboard itself. If you're switching between Win/Mac, it's easier to keep Windows mode on permanently and just swap Alt/Ctrl keys (via System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Modifier Keys, and swap "Command" and "Option" keys)
