PhytoVet products are top of the line!
My vet suggested using the PhytoVet line of products on a foster Pitbull-mix that we took in who was suffering from a yeast overgrowth on half of her body & ears as well as dermatitis due to having fleas prior to us taking her in. *These products don’t treat fleas, but they do treat the allergic reaction that many pets suffer from due to flea bites*We started buying it from Amazon as it was less expensive. This is not a prescription drug, so buying it over the counter is no issue as long as your source is reputable. It takes time and persistence BUT THIS DOES WORK! While your dog will be noticeably less itchy after 1 bath, it can take weeks to be fully healed (yeast, for example) and months to see desired results (hair regrowth, for example). Here’s our 2 month journey.Pro Tip: The PSS and the CK shampoos are not the same, they have different ingredients and they offer different benefits from each other, they work best when they are used in conjunction with each other! Wash with PSS first, followed by CK.Both PSS & CK have a pleasant, light fragrance. They rinse easily. PSS is thicker and foams up much more than CK. PSS is cream colored, while CK is red in color. Apply generously. We started with 3 baths a week for the first month. We began each bath with the PSS Antiseborrheic shampoo to remove all the waxy build up, to unclog follicles and to prep the skin for the CK Antiseptic shampoo that we used immediately after. We scrubbed her whole body down well with the PSS and let that sit for 10 minutes. After rinsing, we applied the CK shampoo (SHAKE the CK shampoo WELL, before applying) massaging into her skin and leaving it on her for another 10 minutes before rinsing well. The Ck shampoo has anti-fungal and antiseptic properties as well as helps restore your pets natural skin barrier. After 1 month we reduced baths to 2x’s per week for 2 weeks, then once a week for 2 weeks. Each time letting the shampoos sit on her skin for 10 minutes each. Now we only wash as per normal grooming requires, but will continue to use this shampoo as it is so gentle on the skin.*Each animals skin condition is unique and will require more or less bathing requirements depending on their diagnosis and according to your vet. The great thing about these products is that they will not dry your pets skin out, as both are soap free. Both actually help to restore the skin barrier so washing often isn’t an issue.* Don’t be afraid to increase weekly baths if symptoms aren’t improving.A few weeks into her treatment she was spayed, this of course, prevented us from bathing her for 2 weeks while she healed. We used the spray, wipes and mouse during this time. Wipes were also used to clean her ears daily (in conjunction with antifungal ear cream prescribed by our vet). Our foster was cleared of her yeast overgrowth after 2-3 weeks of using these products 3x’s per week. Dermatitis was gone after 4-6 weeks. Hair regrowth was noticeable after 2 weeks, but was not fully achieved until week 8! Symptoms were noticeably alleviated after the first bath and continued to improve with each subsequent bath.I would absolutely recommend the PhytoVet products to anyone with a pet battling skin conditions. It takes dedication and patience, but it’s so worth it!*Note* Medicated baths alone won’t help all pets, some need a higher quality diet in conjunction with these topicals to fight off their issues. In our fosters case, changing her diet from a cheap, popular, chicken based, store brand that she was fed prior to staying with us, to a high quality food with a salmon base definitely helped her progression. We also feed her one can of sardines (in water) every week to boost DHA & Omega 3 absorption. Many times, skin conditions have a lot to do with diet.

The ONLY shampoo we use for our dog!
Our dog has really bad allergies...like REALLY bad takes allergy pills everyday type allergies. When his allergies are flaring, he used to get yeast and bacterial infections on his skin. We use this shampoo every other week (we started once a week, but once the infections were under control we were able to shift to every other week). This shampoo was recommended to us by our vet and it's one of the most effective methods we've found to control his skin conditions. It's a bright red color, but it washes right out of our light yellow lab's fur and doesn't leave any color behind. Our vet warned us that it doesn't lather very much, but I find it lathers okay for us. We wet our dog down, massage this into his fur, let it sit for 10 minutes and then rinse. It smells nice, not medicine-y at all. Definitely recommend!

Great Product for Problem Skin
Got this from our vet originally and it works GREAT. Since I am chorohexidine sensitive I use gloves to wash. It has a strong but pleasant scent and you need to follow the directions on the bottle. Some dogs this stuff lathers well and others you will have to use more but don't get it on the dogs head, in ears eyes nose etc. Leave on at least five minutes, amazing the amount of sheer junk it pulls out of the dogs skin. Great for seborrhea, mange, other coat problems that lead to skin issues. I am not sure how it would do on open sores because it does make them feel uncomfortable as it is. Don't use more than once or twice weekly and don't use more than a month at a time will really dry out the skin.

Great product, great value
I had gotten this at the vet the first time and it was expensive. When I needed more (because it works so well) I decided to find it less expensive. This was perfect. My dog had allergies and itchy skin and had some hot spots. Bathing him in this once a week was super helpful and seemed to give him a lot of relief. Loved the scent - very clean smelling and not medicine like at all.

vet prescribed shampoo
my rescue dog had a skin issue prior to coming home with us. she had fungus, hot spots, and still has a flea allergy. our vet gave us this shampoo and it was $25 for much smaller bottle. it smells good, and does not make her hair stiff. her skin got clearer as well.

Excellent for kitten ringworm
My rescue kitten came down with ringworm a month after I got him (there was a lot of ringworm at the shelter and it can take weeks to manifest). He was prescribed fluconazole (later Itraconazole) and this shampoo. The vet wanted $50 for the shampoo. Amazon was half that. The shampoo is great. It smells nice and it removed a lot of the ringworm on the first dose. Because the kitten reacted badly to being wet, I spot treated the ringworm once more and it's almost gone, a month later. I did notice the copy on Amazon's bottle was different from the vet's version (words not capitalized, etc.) I was worried that it might be a fake, but it worked. I had the same thing happen with Schwarzkopf hair dye activator. On both occasions I was told that they changed suppliers.

This is the best medicated shampoo for my Bichon
This is the best medicated shampoo for my Bichon. She suffers terribly every spring with allergies that cause her to scratch non-stop. My vet sold me a small bottle of this and it worked great. He said that the constant scratching is causing skin infections and recommended this shampoo. This 16 oz size bottle from Amazon is only slightly more expensive that what I paid at the vet for an 8 oz bottle. We had a noticeable improvement after only one bath with this shampoo. Her scratching nearly stopped. After a couple baths, she is back to normal. We are so happy! I will definitely buy this again. Highly recommended if your dog suffers from skin irritation and infections.

Great for stopping hot spots
My GSD has had skin issues since I got him and along with a diet change, this shampoo has really helped his skin! If I see a hotspot coming on, I'll either give him a bath or use the Phytovet CK antiseptic pads. If I catch it early enough, the bath/pads usually stop the hotspot from growing and allow me to treat my dog's skin at home rather than going to the vet for antibiotics all the time.
