Draw...Then Write, Grades 4-6

Great skills practiced here. Even mom learned a few drawing tips.

I teach 3rd grade and bought it to easy the stress of writing for some of my students. It starts out teaching them to draw an item and then has them write about what they drew. Great concept to "trick" them into writing. My students love it!

I am a 4th grade teacher who teaches ELA and writing. This is a book full of fun activities for writing. I have used some of the drawings to ease the students into writing. After teaching a type of writing such as narrative, I have the students draw and write a piece of writing based on that drawing. There is please of drawing practice and plenty of room to write a short paragraph.

I think this is a good format for early elementary. Seems too easy for 4-6th grades, unless you have a struggling writer.It is a fun way to include drawing and writing.

This item was clearly misrepresented online. There is light wear on the outside cover which would have been fine for the price. Inside there is a child's coloring on almost every page :(. This is ridiculous and unacceptable for someone to sell this item for $10.00 in this condition. I could go to the thrift store and buy a better quality item for less!!! I'd attach a photo if it would let me. I will be returning this item for sure and for certain.

Excellent resource! Nice that there are different positions to draw. I also like to suggestions for the student's papragraphs.Very happy with this curriculum book!

The quality was good but it is not enriching enough for grades 4-6.

I can't believe these exercises are supposed to be for kids in grades 4-6. They're so simplistic. My nine year-old, who is definitely not a gifted artist, could draw a cat in kindergarten. And I don't need a book to say, draw a cat then write about a cat. I was hopeful this book would encourage the creative thought process and make writing more fun, but it doesn't do the trick.

I like the print size and the gradual increase in the drawing elements to complete the picture. I also like that it shows how to embellish the drawing.

It is stated the condition is good, however, after receiving it, I opened the book and shocked! The first page is page No. 27! All the first 26 pages had been ripped off! OMG...
