HEXBUG BattleBots Rivals (Tombstone and Witch Doctor)

Now I'm a huge fan of the Battlebots series since a kid. My friends and I still sit around and watch the carnage on TV when we get the chance. One day I was looking for a small version to enjoy with the boys [We're all almost 30] and stumbled across this arena. The arena is well together and very sturdy for the amount of pieces flying around. Consisting of a hard plastic compared to the previous cardboard version.The two bots that come with, Tombstone and The Custom Bit are two perfectly working robots with different spinning blades. The small controller is perfect yet almost too small for our massive hands when we play. An issue we run into is covering the sensor with our fingers when trying to hold the controller.Other than that everything plays wonderfully. As a 29 year old male who still enjoys watching Battlebots. This is by far one of the best 'Man Toys' to get for your mancave if you plan on having the boys over. The amount of drinking and destruction that happens has become a weekly thing for us.So far the versions of the bots seem to be getting more and more innovative and sturdy.Starting from the beginningV1-Tombstone+Witch DoctorV2-Beta+MinotaurV3-Witch Doctor + BroncoV4-Black Smith + BiteforceV5-Duck + RotatorV6-Rusty + HypershockPLATINUM- Whiplash + SawblazeIt's been a pleasure attempting to collect all of these.Can't wait to get my hands on the new Platinum robots.[Update*Got em, absolutely my favorites]

I bought this for my 9 year old grandson. I built a "fighting arena" out of a 16" x 16" cardboard box using a piece of plywood for the floor. This makeshift arena makes for a great place for the bots to battle. Just being able to control the fight between the two "bots" is the fun part. We feel that we are in the fight, being able to control them. The bots so far are working perfectly. At around $50 they are a little expensive but so far the enjoyment outweighs the cost.

We absolutely LOVE watching BattleBots, and have had a ton of fun playing with these remote controlled BattleBots. They are so fun to play with (my daughter and both my sons love them...ages 4-11). The reason I'm not giving 5 stars is just because Witch Doctor and Minotaur (from the other hexbug set) both have vertical spinners that CONSTANTLY get things like hair stuck in them. In fact, Witch Doctor only worked for us for about a day before a hair got in there and after days of trying we still can't get it out...the vertical spinner doesn't work. Even so, we still enjoy these things.

My son loved watching the show this year, so was super excited to get this for this birthday! Overall they are fun, but there are a few downfalls. 1) some parts barely stay on or fall off SUPER easy 2) the "weapon" in the front on Witch Doctor stopped working within a week 3) the batteries definitely don't last long and within couple days batteries had to be changed in 1 of them.I think these are a little overpriced for the durability. Its too bad, they aren't a little more durable, or maybe we just get a bad one. Overall fun toy.

My son loves these! I’ve even played them with him since it comes with two bots and their sturdy and durable and so much fun! They really are hard to break ours have been dropped and hit each other lots and still going strong from our purchase a few weeks ago which is great! Very pleased! Very fun!

Machen einfach richtig Spaß! Die Bots sind einigermaßen robust, solange man sie auf glattem und sauberen Boden fahren lässt. Als ein paar Sandkörner ins Innere eines Bots gelangten streikte ein Rad an einem Bot. Der Besitzer (grade 10) konnte diesen selbst aufschrauben und mit Zahnstochern den Dreck entfernen, seitdem laufen beide Bots wieder. Die Fernbedienungen haben 4 umschaltbare Kanäle und funktionieren gut.Ich hoffe Hexbug baut noch wenigstens 2 weitere, neue Modelle, wenn, fände ich einen Flipper (der den Gegner hochschleudert) toll.Ich hol mir jedenfalls bald auch zwei für mich zuhause ;) irgendwie einfacher als solche Bots selber zu bauen...Auf die abfallenden Teile muss man natürlich gut aufpassen, vor allem weil wenn die Teile von dem mit dem horizontal rotierenden roten Hammer überfahren werden, diese quer durch die Gegend fliegen und dann leicht verloren gehen könnten. Erst dachte ich der eine Bot sei viel Stärker als der andere, nach einer Weile spielen fanden sich aber Siegstrategien für beide Bots (werden hier nicht verraten). Wie das allerdings mit den Batterietypen / Accu Verwendbarkeit ist habe ich nicht im Blick (dafür nicht lange genug mit rumgespielt) Ansonsten: Sowas von Kaufempfehlung!

Having undergone a "battle" in an arena set up on my lounge floor by the grandchildren. I can honestly say this toy (?) Stood up to the test extremely well. A good buy. Sturdy and a whole lot of fun.

It was a birthday present for my son and he was so excited as they work and he felt he was in the arena with his own robot. Great design works a treat. Hope there will be more as only managed to find 4 so far
