Stokes Select Large Hopper Bird Feeder with Two Suet Cake Holders, 6lb Seed Capacity

Bird feeder was purchased as a gift for someone in another state. I have not seen the feeder but am told it is perfect. It has places for different kinds of feeds and also suet. It arrived on time as promised.

I hove been using these for years and they last many years hold lots of seed.

Took a few days for the birds to discover the suet cakes and the black fly larvae that we put in the middle. But when they did, Holy Cow we had birds flocking to it. Downey woodpeckers. Nuthatches. Chickadees. Finches. Love this purchase. Recommend. Easy to assemble and easy to clean. Very sturdy.

Wish it had wood perches for the birds instead of metal

I bought the first one locally, but they didn't have any more. I was so glad to find them on Amazon. The 2 came safely packed in a box labeled with the company name. The clear plastic sides are removable which makes for easy cleaning, and a big plus is they can be replaced when the Texas sun destroys them.As you can see in the picture I modified them a bit. There is a socket for pole mounting as well as cable for hanging. We have a problem with masked bandits (raccoons) raiding the feeders. I have guards mounted below the feeders which are pole mounted.There is a problem with just putting them on a pole. High winds will blow the cover off. My fix was to remove the cable, using all thread from the suit holder with wingnuts to secure the cover. I also added a couple of wooden perches for the bigger birds.All in all a great bird feeder.

Very sturdy and large. Survives squirrel and deer attacks. All metal. Should last a long time.

This is the third one of these bird feeders that we’ve had. Like it very much. Has room for several birds. We luvs in area where there are various types of woodpeckers, so we like having the suet block holders. Only reason we’ve had a total of three is due to living in wooded housing development and on rare occasions, we have had visits from hungry bears. They have destroyed two feeders over the years. Would definitely recommend this feeder.

The drainage holes in the feeder section help in rainy days so seed doesn't get soggy. I like having two suet feeders at opposite ends, and the metal construction is much better than wood for overall cleanliness and health of the birds.
