I had an original set of these years ago but gave them away when I got my hair cut short. Big mistake. With my hair longer now, I started thinking about how great they were and bought this new set. It's just like I remembered (with some minor changes in appearance) and has been great. They make my hair soft and bouncy, and fuller. I see a lot of complaints about the clips causing crimping at the roots but I haven't really had that problem. I learned with my first set that experimenting with the placement of the clips can help a lot. We had the same problem back in the days when we wet-rolled our hair and used giant bobby pins to hold the rollers. We had to place the bobby pins just right or would get a crimp in all the wrong places! As for complaints that the rollers get hot, if I have one that's too hot against my scalp, I just stick a Q-tip under it so it's not touching my scalp. I have not felt that the rollers are hotter than they should be.

I have been using these for years. About every eight years, I have to replace them. I think that’s perfectly reasonable! They get the job done:)

I love the look that this creates. If you’re looking for a blowout type for long medium hair, this is really great. However, the clips that come with the rollers suck. They don’t stay no matter how you position them and the rollers half in roll.

Conair owns the game, no one else has these rollers at this decent price and they replaced my almost duplicate set that was over 30 years old ! One thing to remember is to keep your old metal clips because this set only has flimsy plastic clips. I saved mine and some of my old rollers so I can do my hair and my daughters at the same time !

So I plugged in these beauties and I waited, and waited, and waited. After 45 minutes the red light was still on; it never turned to white. I unplugged them and let them cool down. After the cool down, I heated them up again for 10 minutes and tried to put them in my hair, using the set of metal clips that I was sure would work better than the plastic ones I've read about. The metal clips worked fine on the top and back of my head, but didn't work on the sides. So I used the purple plastic clips that came with them on the sides with my hair sort of hang gliding in clips that don't stay where they are put. However, even after a complete cool down and a 10 minutes re-heat, they were...hmm, let me think, oh...TOO HOT!! The edges which you are supposed to hold, were pretty hot after only ten minutes of heat. When I took them out I didn't dare put a comb in my hair but just fluffed and there is some minimal curl but mostly a bad beachy mess. I think if I leave them on for 15 minutes and then try to do my hair, they could work. I think it depends on how much of a burn I can take from the edges, which are not supposed to be hot. I'll give them another try; maybe I'll get better at it and update this review. But, ultimately they will probably be going back.

Very fast curling time. Curl lasts long time.

Love these! They are large enough that you can just create body or use more curlers for more of a curl. I have below shoulder length pretty thick hair and only use 7 rollers.
