I have only one plug in my hallway and a lamp is there - that is until I need it for my dehumidifier to dry the washing so the lamp is out of action two or three times a week. This is where these lights come in. I've placed them around the bathroom door, which is opposite my front room, so that when the lamp is out of action, these lights activate when I go into my hallway and I can see my way to the kitchen without bumping into anything - brilliant! Ok, so I have a main light but it's not near the door and has to be fumbled for in the dark so, if I want to put it on, I can see it more easily when these lights activate.You need 4 AAA batteries for the sensor box and I've not had the thing long enough to see how long they will last but I will add this information later. The strip of light is soft and flexible and has a sticky backing which you peel off and place where you need it and you can cut it to size if you want at specially marked areas on the strip. I wouldn't recommend sticking the lights anywhere where they could spoil your painting or wallpaper because if they stop functioning at any point or you don't want them anymore, you will wreck your decorations when you remove them. Just put them on a proper painted surface, such as around a door frame or under your top kitchen cupboards so that removal damage will be minimal.The battery pack is detachable from the lights and has an on/off switch which I keep off during the day because I don't want them switching on and off every-time I walk down the hall in the day-time. As soon as it gets dark, I switch them to 'auto' so that the sensor will detect movement when I walk into the area and light the way without having to put the main light on. Brilliant idea!The battery pack has a strip of Velcro at the back so that when you want to change the batteries, if you've stuck the pack to a surface, you can easily remove it by pulling it off the Velcro, unplugging it from the jack and taking it somewhere else to replace the batteries. I'd recommend holding the top of the Velcro with the tip of your finger to keep it stuck whilst you remove the battery pack from the surface you've stuck it to or the whole lot might come off the wall!

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  This arrived in perfect condition in its own branded blister pack.This light comes with a control unit and a strip of led lights on a coil.the lights can be cut to measure and has a sticky back so they can be fixed to most smooth surfaces and its powered by 4 AAA batteries that are not provided .These lights have 3 different light modes and can be set to manual mode which is controlled by an on off switch or to auto mode which is where it turn on when it detects motion.I haven't installed this yet but i can't envisage any problems with them as everything seemed to be working fine when i tried them out.my first impressions of these lights are very high and hopefully these will stand the test of time.

Easy to install, removable and then put back inReally bright, illuminates my pretty dark wardrobe and with the motion sensor it works like a dream, everything I need to find is really easy now.Great that it's battery powered and the LED's are really brightThis is a great solution (especially for dimly lit wardrobes) and I'm really pleased with it

Good strip of lights. Have got them in the bathroom so I don't have to wake anyone with the main light at night. The sensor is very sensitive even turning them on during the day so I've been switching them off in the morning and back on before bed. It's very bright and provides more than enough light. Overall really good product.

Simple light strip. I have removed the closure and added for solar aaa batteries. Ran the cord up the steps revealing the battery pack towards the sun so every morning the batteries if needed will be recharged. During the night the steps are fully lit on detection of motion. Good product.  Follow me on here daily reviews and/or answering questions on the products reviewed

This is a super product I don't like putting on the light on the stairs in the middle of the night when it could wake other people this saves that it works on ordinary batteries that is the only thing I would change and make it rechargeable but you could get rechargeable batteries to do this it easy to install and a good light to it

easy to install bit of a bulky controller that needs to be hidden but look great once on, good value
