Great Build Quality and Functionality!
Overview: Pros- >Great build quality >Easy installation (but can be time consuming) >Very bright at night >Easy to control (using both the main remote control and key fob) >Uses barely any battery >Will work on almost any car Cons- >Connectors are flimsy (the metal prongs inside) >Cables aren't long enough for longer cars >Key fob controller has a short range >Is barely visible during daytime (which really is no problem) >I had mounting issues on my vehicle on the sides (results may vary for your vehicle) In depth review: I had been looking at tens of different underglow kits on amazon, and across the Web. Most scared me with their cheap prices (some costing only $30!) and others just did not have any good reviews at all. I came across this Opt7 kit about a month ago and instantly could tell that this was no ordinary kit. This one seemed to have much higher reviews, and much better advertising than any other sub $100 kit. So I purchased it, planning on doing the full installation myself. First I tested it with the 12v outlet to make sure that all of the strips and cables worked, which they did and the brightness sitting on the roof of the car during broad daylight surprised me (however once they are under the car it is a different story during the day). I played around with all of the features and functions before I began the installation to make sure everything was on tip top shape. Then I began to plan the runs for the cables going from the control box to the light strips. About the light strips, holy cow those things are robust! They are encased in a metal sheathing with some sort of clear rubbery coating on the side where the lights shine and to this day mud, dirt, and debris have not affected them. When I was first installing the front and back I made a bit of a mistake. It was getting dark outside so I wanted to move in the car to work on it where there was light. Well I accidently ran over the cable that I had attached to the rear strip and it yanked the strip out of the spot I just had it sitting in and bent the entire strip into a soft Crescent shape. I almost freaked out until I bent it right back into its normal shape and it functioned just fine! However one of the metal prongs inside of the connecter at the control box got messed up by this mishap and caused all of the blue diodes in any strip connected to it not to function, but that was fine by me as I only intended to use green anyways. Everything else during installation was smooth up until it came to mounting the side strips. My 2011 Honda Accord Ex sedan had no grommets, holes, or spots to attach the strip to. There was also a rubberized coating on the entire bottom of the sides of the car that would not allow me to drill into the metal to mount the strips. So I would up using zip ties, which have held very very well, and different kinds of tape on the ends, which has not faired so well. Every other day one of the strips would lose its tape do to rain, or wind and it would hang about 3 centimeters from where I had it mounted. Eventually I was able to use packing tape (of all of the tapes for some reading that was the best and is still holding on after 2 weeks) to hold up the strips. After that I had to run the rear strip and found out that the cable was about 2 feet short of where I needed it to be. Maybe if I had mounted the control box in a more optimal place it would have worked but I already had a cozy spot for it near the top of the engine bay (another thing: it is mush easier to just mount the control box in the engine bay somewhere near your fuse box, rather than inside the car). It is worth mentioning that my car is longer than the average sedan by about 8 inches so your milage may vary. So I just bought an extender cable that was in the recommended section under this product and it worked great! Everything functions except for the rear strip's blue diodes but that is from my dumb self messing it up. I would highly recommend this product as it definitely turns heads and is a great way to personalize your car without doing anything to drastic to the vehicle.

Great value underglow
Awesome product. LEDs are super bright and installation was a breeze. I had a slight issue with a bracket and customer service was able to immediately solve my problem. Opt7 projects are great value.

Always have wanted underglow, and very glad I found this kit!
This is likely the best kit I've seen for this price range. Many other "eBay" kits for this price or around it appear to be much cheaper quality and the wiring is too thin to last. However this kit's LED strips are very durable and secure. I've driven in heavy rains and rocky roads in my lowered car and they are still perfect. Install was super simple (although I did take a lot of time to ensure wiring was perfect and protected from any moving parts or areas where it could rub due to movement). Both remotes are very convienent and offer a range of colors/patterns to play with. Hardware included I would give a 9/10. Not bad for a universal kit, however I ended up using different bolts. The kit allows you to screw in small brackets in which the strips zip tie to and is surprising durable. Instead of using the small screws the kit came with to hold the brackets, I was able to use screws from a local hardware store that went into my factory holes that held my sideskirts. For the front and back bumper I bought bolts that held the brackets so I could drill through the bumpers plastic and bolt down on the other side with a matching nut to hold the brackets. Wiring itself appears durable but I backed it up with the black wire loom covering from a local auto parts store. Plenty of lead from the strip and also 4 extensions with the kit to extend from the strip to the control box wherever it is in your car. Now for the only bad I noticed; with the angle of my front and back bumper, even with the car lowered 2", the LED strips were visible under the car. This bothered me a lot as it looked like tacky light bars under the car, and could have been something easily fixed by the company if they had some sort of built in lip just enough to surround the edges of the strip. Personally, I found some angle iron that fit just enough over the strips and painted it black and used the same bolt/bracket system to hold it and the strips on the bumper. Problem solved, and didn't look half bad. Again, in my opinion something that could easily be changed during production, in my opinion. Other than that in short, this really is a great kit and I love having it in my car! It is worth any tweaking you might have to do to have it fit perfect on your vehicle! *Photos included are a mix of before and after I installed the angle iron to show the "light bar" look I described. The video also was taken before I installed the strip on the rear bumper.

High quality, great performance, and great "bang for the buck" pricing.
Outstanding lighting system, especially for the price. Controllers are easy to use, and the numerous modes and color combinations make it easy to create a different effect every time. I chose the aluminum bars, as I felt they would be more durable than flexible strips. These bars seem very well made. All connections are sturdy, and the sealed light compartments look like they will hold up well to the elements, road grime and debris, etc. I liked this kit so much that I ordered the expansion kit that includes 2 flexible strips, and extra long cords and splitters. So far I have light bars mounted under the sides and under the nose, and lower profile flexible strips under the front edge of the hood to light up the engine bay. I'm still trying to decide where to mount the final light bar... most likely in the trunk. Some reviewers couldn't get music sync to work, but I had no such problems. In fact, I may even wrap the controller box lightly to decrease sensitivity a little, to make the lights react only to the harder hitting bass rhythms. Don't get me wrong... music sync works great. The change would just be more my preference. I have two other friends with similar lights, one with this Opt-7 kit and one with another brand. The Opt-7 controllers are of much sturdier construction, and the overall impression is that the entire Opt-7 kit is of noticeably higher quality. I'd highly recommend this kit to anyone looking to add some brilliant color and light to their vehicle. Plus, aside from the great quality and outstanding brightness, the included parts and wiring made installation a breeze. The toughest part was simply figuring out how to route the wires to where I wanted everything. After that, it was pretty much a "plug and play" setup.

Wicked cool
Opt7 lightning is amazing, the amazing color and options are great. Shows up fantastic at night and truly makes my car look mean. Goofy I know. Had a slight hiccup during installation and support was absolutely flawless and extremely quick to help me out.

very expensive junk.
this product was supposedly a good brand but it’s really not. i wish i could give it a negative star. i installed the product on my vehicle properly with no wires touching any hot surface or dangling. it was properly installed but not even the second day of the product being installed one of the strips doesn’t work. only worked on a certain colors. would not recommend this product. not worth your money at all. junk product.

The most durable lights ever
DURABLE!!! If you’re in between this brand or another one, pick this one 100%. I was rear-ended shortly after installing these lights ;(( but not even a scratch on them because they are high quality and bullet proof. Then due to bad road conditions and only a 6” clearance from the ground the front clips came off, but the light bars were completely fine! I held them up with tape and I reached out to the seller and got a quick response and they are sending a new clip set. Having the light bars be flexible in the middle is great trust me! It saves the bars from bending or damage during installation and driving. Installation was on a 2020 Corolla SE, it was a 2 person job and took A LOT of time. Each car will be different. We had to take time to map out the best way to hardwire it from the battery and keep the wires invisible and out of the way. We ended up poking a hole through the plastic rubber from the engine bay under the dashboard and feeding the wires under the driver’s side mat and under the interior plastic door frame. This required removal of the plastic door frame, and the driver’s side carpeting under the mat. We put the control box and sound box under the driver’s seat, and fed the wires through the flood cap under the mat to beneath the vehicle. The only thing we couldn’t figure out was wiring the lights to the open/close/lock door sensor. I read reviews to get a better idea of how to install these, so here’s some tips I want to add: -Make sure you sit the side LED bars not in an area where they would be in the way of a lift when you get an oil change. And ALWAYS tell anyone working on your car for maintenance or repairs that you have underglow bars!!! - It will take time to adjust the LED bars in the front and back so you can’t see the light dots and just the glow. It’s the hardest part, because it all depends on the angle of the bumpers, frames etc. Nothing gives me the underglow ick more than a visible light bar. For the back of the Corolla, we had to angle the light bar down to prevent the LED dots from showing and we taped off and spray painted the light bar a waterproof matte black spray paint because the shiny aluminum was too visible (see photo). - The set with the remote is the one we got and it’s just fine if you’re looking to not spend the extra money for the app/Bluetooth version. The thing is the remote battery died within 6 months but it’s just a basic disc battery sold on Amazon a 2 pack for about $3 and easy to change. I get so many compliments on these lights. I just wanted to make a very popular and basic car stand out and be different and they do exactly that. I would buy these again for my next car.
