Great for Gardening
My husband is an avid gardener. These gloves help him so much. He said they protect his hands agains thorns, poison ivy and brush.I would recommend.

The products delivers
I can pull foil pouches directly from the coals with zero problems. Have been using them for camping and camp fire cooking. I strongly recommend them.

Great, comfortable, well made pair of gloves!
I got these gloves recently to replace an old pair of hearth gloves that I use for my wood stove at home. Overall I am very pleased with the gloves. They appear to be well made and after quite a few weeks of using them every single day, there is no signs of wear or breakdown on them. I would definitely classify them as premium leather as the product description indicates. They are very comfortable to wear and allow for better dexterity then other hearth gloves I've used in the past. I also like the length of the cuff (my last pair had a short cuff and I ended up burning my arm a few times). The one and only drawback I can see is that they are not quite as temperature resistant as other gloves I've owned in the past. It has only been 2 or 3 times I've noticed, when reaching in to adjust a log or scoop out hot ashes, that I have felt the heat penetrate through the gloves. When it comes down to it, I am very pleased with the gloves, I would recommend them to someone else, and I would definitely purchase them in the future. This product review is based on the practical use of a complementary copy of the product itself in the form of honesty and most accurate opinion to the best of my knowledge

3 Cords of Wood and a Season of BBQ & Grilling.
A bit chilly this March AM and so started my wood stove to enjoy with my coffee. I once again used these gloves and realized I hadn't yet reviewed them and so here it is.Simply great gloves. I heat primarily with wood (about two cords a year) and BBQ and grill just about all year so have used them to pick up a hot mid-section of my Weber smoker and have reached into my Vermont Castings wood stove to rearrange an errant log or two. They are one of those simple things that really work and make life better.Now. Can I pick up a flaming log or the glow-red end of a branding iron? Nope, But these are not what these are intended for. For every day, common sense, fire wise use, these are really good gloves. Best I've had and I've gone through several pairs in my day.My last pair were probably more protective (heavy duty welder's) but the seam came undone one day so raised a nice blister. I sworn a bunch and then bought these. Very well made, long cuffed, supple enough so you don't feel like you have a cast on, yet thick enough for common sense protection for every day use.I liked them so much I bought a pair for a good friend this past Christmas and he loves them too. He will enjoy them a lot longer than we enjoyed the whiskey he got me, cost a lot less too!

Big fan of these gloves for heat shielding, not necessarily for direct contact
I just recently bought a charcoal grill, and along with it, I bought a pair of these gloves. I am extremely happy that I did.Without getting too detailed, I have found that these gloves aren't the best at sustained direct contact with hot items--for instance, holding my grill grate after it has been over the fire for a half an hour, I can definitely feel the heat through these gloves. It's fine for a short period, but if I were to continue holding them for a while, it would grow uncomfortable. If that's what you're looking for, they might not be the best option. However, what I do actively is usually short exposures to heat. For instance, after I pour my charcoal into the grill (already lit using a chimney starter) I will often use these gloves to help push the coal to one side to set up a two-zone grilling system. I can pick up my grill grates briefly to shift things around as needed, and put the grates back on without problem. As long as you keep exposure short, and not too extreme, these gloves are actually excellent. If you're looking for sustained direct heat contact, they're probably not the best option. But if anything happened to these gloves, I would buy them again with no hesitation.

Great gloves
I wear these gloves whenever I griil; whichever hand is over the grates, or both, has one of these gloves on it. I use a Thermapen to determine the temperature inside the meat. This means moving the probe slowly through the meat to find the lowest temperature. That means hand(s) over *hot* grates for a period while I check each piece of meat. Without these nice, *long* gloves I would have a char on my hands, arms and the Thermapen. They aren't too tight so that I can take them off with one hand, but not too loose that I am swimming in them. I have not experimented with them to see how long it would take to heat up my fingers, but I have had my protected hand over the (really) hot grates for about 90 seconds and felt no heat nor have the gloves suffered any damages. These are ten times better than the leather work-gloves I used to use while grilling.I have no direct experience using these gloves with wood fires (SWFL is not a fire-pit/fireplace environment unless you're cooking weenies on the beach.), but by extrapolation of the leather work-gloves' experience on grills and fireplaces in the northern reaches, I would have been grateful to have them with my old fireplace and grill. If these gloves disappeared, I would get the same ones again. Love 'em.
