A Pocket-sized Powerhouse
This tiny book contains only 96 pages, with plentiful illustrations throughout the text. Whereas it is thus a potentially quick and easy read, you will do well to slow down when entering the world depicted within its pages. This volume may be small, but like a tiny box of the finest chocolates, it should be savored one morsel at a time. Informed by roughly 15 years of rigorous research, the eight chapters overflow with wonderful wisdom in plain English showing the practical power of gratitude. The reader will learn much regarding the value of cultivating thankfulness. Moreover, this Little Book of Gratitude includes a wide assortment of readily doable activities to help one develop a truly grateful outlook that enhances life’s blessings and buffers life’s hardships. Far from being a naïve, Pollyannaish foray into the world of “thinking happy thoughts,” Dr. Emmons teaches the reader to use gratitude as a realistic lens through which both happiness and sorrow can be valued and seen more clearly. Read this book, reflect on it, try the practical tips, and then repeat. You will be very grateful that you did.

Game changer
This book was recommended my a friend to help with my depression. I found it very helpful as times. It's not long winded and gives you little ideas or activities to try to get you to be more appreciative of those around you.

Remember what you have
This little book was very helpful. It’s true that often we focus on things we don’t have instead of all the goodness in our lives. Thank you Robert, for this book!

A great little book that hold a lot of wisdon
I’m on a quest to read all the books about gratitude and this is the second. I love that at the end of each chapter there are exercises, and I love when it talks about grace. This was a new perspective which I didn’t think about before and very much needed. It’s the pillar concept to understand gratitude. I am so very grateful for the author of this book and the publisher. Thank you very much.

One problem with audio book.
It's a wonderful book..-5 stars... yet.. there is no compilation of the practices as stated in the book introduction. I need that supplement. The book states that all the practices are in Chapter 10 at the end of the book.. well Chapter 10 does not even exist. That was very disappointing. i ended up buying the paper book just to get the practices, which I feel are absolutely vital in putting Gratitude to work. book=5 stars, complete content-0 stars (it was not existent) . Shame on you Audible. and Amazon for not disclosing that omission or by not providing it in a supplemental download. If I am incorrect, I'd happily accept that.

"Gratitude enables a person to feel good and also to do good." Indeed - and Dr. Robert Emmons has done a masterful job of teaching us how to create & grow our own practice of gratitude. The 100 "little" pages are filled with enormously powerful ideas and tools. He has woven a beautiful tapestry of the science, beauty and power of "giving away the goodness."I purchased ten copies to give for holiday gifts and will be getting more - - rarely can you give a gift that is life changing. This is one. Thanks, Bob Emmons, for doing and then skillfully translating the science, for inspiring us to change the way we approach our daily lives and how we interact with the world.
