Great harmonica. Very beautiful sound.
Fantastic sound. An excellent harmonica. I bought a Special 20 C Harmonica as my first harmonica 1 year ago, which fulfilled a great role in learning how to play harmonica. This harmonica is certainly a big step up in quality from Special 20 (which still sounds good!), and it sounds beautiful. My only complaint is that the harmonica case for Hohner harmonicas (at least from my 6 or 7 harps) usually have glue that is old and falls apart on the interior of the case. The case will work fine, it's just that there's a plastic mold to secure the harmonica from rattling around in the case. That doesn't impact the purity of the instrument, but Hohner may want to look into this.

Just the best!
In my opinion this is the best OOTB harmonica! I've tried Seydels, Spc 20's, Suzuki's and this is the BEST! These MBD's still have the sound and feel of the classic 1896's that made Blues harp famous but now you've got a FULLY sealed comb, Access screws and good reeds (same reeds as in a Crossover just tuned more like an 1896.) The Crossovers now come with tines that are significantly more rounded making them in my opinion less playable...the MBD beats the Crossover ten ways to sunday...and after about a week of playing these harps loosen up and "break in" and just get so mellow and SO easy to bend, warble and wail on...You want that sound? THAT sound? The one you play along with when your watching Adam Gussows videos on You-tube or Little Walter? BUT you want a quality harp...you want the Marine Band Deluxe!

Best Harmonica
This isnt my first Hohner harmonica but it is my favorite. The front is really slick for quick note changes, its surprisingly air tight for being bamboo too. The sound is also very warm and direct.

Definite Upgrade!
My harmonica collection includes a Hohner 1896 original as well as several Hohner Blues' harps in various keys. I decided to pay the extra $20 and get the upgraded Hohner Marine Band Deluxe to see if the old adage, "you get what you pay for" was true in this case. I have found that it was well worth the extra money. You get the same gritty blue's sound as you would from the original 1896, but it is louder, more responsive, and simply easier to play. This new Deluxe is built to last and sounds great. If you don't mind parting with an extra $20, get the Deluxe.

Extraordinary instrument 🎶
This is the sweetest harp. There’s magic in the wood and Hohner defines blues harp tone. I’m thinking about trying the Seydel comparable model, the Blues Classic 1847.The tone, the control, the tightness, the overall feel... make this instrument extraordinary.

Impressed!
This is the best diatonic I have yet played. The response is good, and I love that it catches no stash hairs. The acrylic raised areas between the holes I believe is very helpful for precision.

Nicely built over my lower priced standard Hohner.
The quality seems to be slightly better than my Marine Band M. Hohner # 1896, but the sound is very similar. If I had to do it over again I would have bought the deluxe first, or ordered the deluxe in a different key than C. Now I have two Hohners in the same key of C that sound very much alike. None the less, I am still happy. Yesterday I ordered a Suzuki Promaster in key of D, so excited to hear and see the difference.
