ACDelco’s Professional Remanufactured Starters are the high quality replacement ideal for many vehicles on the road today. ACDelco’s Professional Remanufactured Starters have new bronze sintered and oil-impregnated bushings. Solenoid contacts are new with copper terminals and plated hardware. Remanufacturing starters is an industry standard practice that involves disassembly of existing units, and replacing components that are most prone to wear with new components. Damaged and obsolete parts are replaced and are end of line tested to ensure they perform to ACDelco specifications. In addition, remanufacturing returns components back into service rather than processing as scrap or simply disposing of them. These starters will provide the same performance, durability, and service life you expect from ACDelco.

Nice looking starter
This is a great looking starter for a good price and comes with a new bushing for the drive end. For me, not being a Volkswagen expert, the vehicle I have is 12V; however, it was originally a 6V (already converted before I got it). One of the primary differences between the 6 and 12 volt models is the 6 volt engines have a different number of teeth on the flywheel and the starter drive and they are not interchangeable! Once I removed the existing starter, I saw that it was a 6V starter and that the armature shaft and drive gear were bigger than on the "new" 12V starter. As it turned out, the drive end bushing was worn out causing the starter to drag, so I ordered a new bushing and replaced it. It spins over like a top now, as you would expect a 6V starter to do with 12V operating it. I found this out the hard way, but maybe should be a foot note in the product description.
