Ended up clipping the locating tap about 50% of the time. These hold the wire nicely so long as there isn't much stress. It doesn't take a lot of pull to force it open, so the wire needs to lay in place without being pulled.

Sturdy construction with a nice snap lock. The screw feature works great for I-joists and osb that don't hold nails very well.

These are nice and pretty easy to use. I like how you can add wire using the snap closure.The only downside for me is that there is a right-angle tab on the base. I know the point is that the tab helps center the unit on the stud for new construction. But I'm using these to suspend "home runs" on floor joists so I'm having to cut off all the tabs.
