I love this rice. So many different grains and very tasty

This rice mix is delicious!! I mix long grain white rice with it. I use it in my chicken bowls.

Makes you full faster since it has glutinous rice. Need to leave in rice cooker longer than jasmine or Japanese mix rice. Easy to cook in rice cooker. Soak for an hour in rice cooker prior to cooking. Then start rice cooker. After cooking, need to leave for half a day for extra moisture to be gone. I use two cups of the mixture to 3 cups water.

Instructions on packages of whole grains normally advise rinsing the grains before cooking. To do that, I stir them in a large bowl of water and pour the bowl's contents into a strainer to remove the water. One such rinsing is typically enough. But instructions on the Rom America package said to rinse three times. When I proceeded to rinse the grains I could see why: the rinse water became extremely dirty. I saw tiny dark insects crawling up the side of the bowl and floating on the water. I stuck my hand into the freshly opened package to examine the grains and found bugs crawling up my hand. I doubt that I'd received an unusual package because (1) the advice to rinse three times suggests unsanitary production conditions and (2) several other reviewers complain of bugs. Although I'm giving the product one star, to be fair, if you like your grains seasoned with little crawly things, this may be the product for you. Since I'm a vegetarian, I fed the grains to birds. They didn't seem to mind the bugs.

The bag tore upon delivery. It was both on top and the bottom.
