LD © Compatible Replacement for Epson T580900 Light Light Black Pigment Ink Cartridge for Stylus Pro 3800

These do not work with my Epson Stylus Pro 3880. When I called LD directly they said unplug it, wait a minute, replace cartridge. Guess what, still don't work.

I was initially concerned whether or not the finicky Epson 3880 would accept these without problems, but they worked like a charm. They've produced excellent quality prints, and the electronics have no problem with them. At about 60% of the cost of the name brand, they're a real bargain.

You should know when ordering this product you need the ORIGINAL EPSON INK CARTRIDGE CHIP to place on this ink cartridge in order for it to work. Not what I expected.

I bought a LD cartridge to test with my Stylus Pro 3800.Light Cyan was the random color of choice.First, you have to bust the chip out of OEM empty cartridge and install it in the LD cartridge. The directions are bad and the diagrams are worse. Very tiny and printed on the side of the cartridge. Those are the ONLY directions with cartridge, nothing more on the box and no printed inserts of any kind.I spent some time performing the chip transplant to make sure it was done exactly correctly. Then I inserted the cartridge and lowered the lid on the printer. The printer then spent several minutes making noises that I take to be the printer trying to prime the light cyan channel from the cartridge.Then...."SEVICE CALL ERROR 1404PLEASE CONTACT TO THEREPAIR CENTER"According to the Epson FAQ:"Q: I see the message Service Error 1404 on the control panel. What's wrong?A: This error indicates that the air pressure for an ink cartridge is not correct, which is usually caused by a defective ink cartridge. If you recently replaced an ink cartridge, try replacing it with a new one. If the error still appears, contact Epson for help."Not only was installing the cartridge a giant PITA because it doesn't come with a required chip, it has locked up my printer where I can't even get the cartridge out.

I've tried this route and learned my lesson.... twice... They sometimes work and sometimes do not. If they do work your colors will be slightly off. after a use you most likely will need to go through five head cleanings to rid yourself of the ink.EPSON gouges it's customers for a reason... They are smart enough to know that it's nearly impossible to make a perfect compatible cartridge.. Do not wast your time with these!
