PE Electrical and Computer: Power Practice Exam Perfect Paperback – August 2, 2020

Very similar format to the exam. It is a must have book for studying. One of the practice books I got to do as many as I could before the exam. I got a low score on this one but I passed the exam on the first try.

This is essential when studying for the PE exam.

Used this in conjunction with other PE Power study material. I saved it to use towards the end of of my studying as it serves as a great tool for measuring your readiness for the actual exam.

This practice guide was a good diagnostic and preparation for the topics, difficulty, and style of wording a week before the actual PE Power exam.

This book is not rated five stars because I think it's a great book. Both it and the Reference Handbook are actually rather miserable, perhaps 1 or 2 star books, almost seemingly intended to tease by not including just a little more information that would make them both so much easier to use. The five star rating is because this book, miserable or not, is a must-have for preparing for the PE. I bought books from different sources and used multiple online tutorials. For the one I used the most, PPI, after a few months I was getting practice exam scores in the 80s and 90s, feeling pretty good. Then I took this practice exam, which I was intentionally saving until the end, and scored in the 60s. My explanation, accurate or not, is that everyone writes and explains problems differently. Even though PPI and all the others were good learning experiences, it was not the same as having practice problems and solutions from the people that write the actual test. The last thing I studied before taking the PE is this book, so I could be prepared for the writing and asking style right from the source, instead of the well wishers that, despite all their intentions, come across differently. This book provides examples for solving problems as quickly as possible, instead of with the long, drawn out explanations of others that, while useful for learning, may not be the best strategy for a timed exam.

This might be the most important study guide for the exam. Good to get a feel for the types of questions asked.Actual exam is really tough, but so is this practice exam if taken under similar settings. Found some 3rd party breakdowns of each question online to understand those I missed.A couple annoying typos in this book, check the errata before you grade your exam. Actual exam likely differs greatly but this is still a good indication of the topics and types of questions asked.3 stars because this is torturous… but needed to pass in my opinion.Best luck in the PE exam!
