Spoiled!
Something is seriously wrong with it!Maybe that’s why it was sold at the lower price? It shrunk, it stinks and it’s grayish! My cats don’t want to come even close to it. Not even my dog and she usually steals their food! This is second batch that is like this. I didn’t complaint about it first time thinking that it’s just one time thing. But now I regret it!Hopefully I get reimbursed for it!

Wide variety
We started looking into healther food options for our two elderly cats after watching "Petfooled". I also read the book by Dr. Barbara Royal where she lists specific ingredients to avoid. I did extensive research (reading TONS of labels) and found that most of the Nutro products to be very good. Our cats responded very quickly to the better food! They are 16 and 19 years old, free of joint pain, and very lively.

You may get old formula- NOT what's pictured
Beware when buying. You may get old formula. Not what is pictured. Even though ingredients list reads very similar- There is a difference as my cats either won't eat the old packaging food or get diarrhea like i started a new food too quickly. I'm still angry at Nutro for stopping cans and eliminating entire formulas as my cats did awesome on the minced. Instead, I buy this- usually from Chewy- when I run out (my fault) before they can ship in 2 days- and I run out SO MUCH faster in these portion packs with my 22 & 19 lb (almost healthy weight- they are Large breed cats- a mix of Maine Coon/ Norweigan Forest cat- not sure- one is ideal for size- one is kinda chunky- but not garfield). I would prefer feeding them something better but I adopted them 3.5 years ago, at the age of 3, we were their 3rd home in 9 months and they came eating Iams- so they mostly stayed on it- until the only formula they would eat was discontinued last year, so we went to Nutro minced- which was discontinued 2 months after that. This is the only existing Nutro formula my cats will eat and I have tried many others from Raw diets to Fancy Feast (always only giving them a tiny bit to try as to not make them sick- 99% refusal). Its hard to sum up in a review but I'm fed up with Nutro and ESPECIALLY Amazon because I finally seem to have somewhat of a set food even though it costs me an arm an a leg for what you get. Then Amazon sends the old packaging- loks like its kibble until chewy comes tomorrow. Cancelling my autoship with Amazon.Review Summary: If your a new pet owner- or new to trying this food- pick a different one- this brand is incredibly overpriced for the quality. So many better options. I am slowly trying to find something else they will eat, but it's a battle. I will do or pay anything to keep my boys healthy so along I go.

Food is fine - packaging is horrible
Cat eats the food fine, she hasn't told me whether she loves it or not. If I could give the packaging 0 stars, I would. I've also noticed a lot of brands are going to this type of packaging, so I shouldn't hold that against Nutro (thus 3 stars). If you try opening the package with your hands, the gravy squirts out all over you or your hands 9 out of 10 times. I do not like smelling like cat food gravy. I have resorted to using a sharp knife to cut open the top, but that is not the easiest process in the world. I can't believe any manufacturer would think this packaging would be MORE preferable to a can...

but the cats love it. Considering the price
These are a little tough for me to open (especially when you pop one open, and the juice gets on your fingers making them slippery), but the cats love it. Considering the price, they are quite small portions- about 38 calories per portion, however the ingredients are great and the protein to fat ratio is the best I've seen out of all the subscribe and save products on Amazon. Would definitely recommend!

Packaging Fiasco
I'm rating the new packaging, not the food. I love the healthy ingredients and my cat likes the flavor. But the packaging is annoying. I just transitioned from the flip top can to the perfect portion pouch. The pouches are hard to open and cause juice to spill everywhere. They are also MORE expensive than the flip top cans (which are hard or impossible to find). Feed 4 ¼ servings daily per 8 lb. adult cat. There are 48 individual pouches (servings) in this order. This equals about 11-12 days of food for one 8 lb. cat. Expensive! There are so many other good quality foods available that I am actually considering switching, even though that is a monumental pain.

My kitty loves slivers of the Pate as treats
I don't mind the packaging and I'm elderly with arthritic fingers. I just set it on a counter and peel back slowly. Then I can close the foil back down over it and pinch it closed for next time. When I last ordered this, it lasted forever since I dole out slivers to my kitty as treats, which she LOVES. She regularly eats the Nutro kibble for her meals. When I ran out of the Pate, I accidentally order "Cuts in Gravy" because there were less packs in the box and cheaper. She won't touch the "Cuts in Gravy". So, I'll be ordering another large box of the Pate!

Not the same as the canned food
Just a warning for those, like me, who normally buy the canned Nutro food and want to try this plastic container-version... the food is NOT the same. My cat initially wouldn't eat it, now she just picks at it. I was told that Amazon won't return cat food, so do yourself a favor and buy the smaller package of this stuff first just in case. I wish I had!

BEWARE OF THE DISCOUNTED CHICKEN-TURKEY VARIET
Please do not buy this food for your cat. I can only speak to the discounted chicken-turkey variety, that is about $20 less than the other varieties on Amazon. I thought I got so lucky to buy grainfree food that I could afford. My cat loved the taste. The packaging was great.Cut to about 3 weeks later when my cat has blood her in stool followed by black, tarry stool.$551 bucks at the vet and my cat had lesions in her small intestine caused by this food. The vet confirmed, there were no other changes to her environment and this only occurred when I switched her to this food. She was not well and what I paid in various tests is no joke. As soon as I stopped feeding her this, her poo has returned to normal and she is on the mend. Please please don't buy this discounted flavour. I can't speak for the other flavours and it's not my place, but I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else's beloved furry family member.

We Almost Lost Our Cat
Last spring we read an article on one of those websites for cat lovers claiming Nutro to be one of the top 10 best wet food for cats. We decided to give it a try, and one of our cats loved it. Then all of a sudden the cat got very sick. Multiple vomiting episodes, blood in vomit, lost of appetite... Healthy and happy kitty became weak, skinny and lethargic. Within three months, we made about 6 emergency visits to the vet clinic. We even went to Blue Pearl in Detroit, where the doctors suspected cancer. We did some research and found out that Blue Pearl belongs to Mars. Mars also makes Nutro... We got rid of Nutro, and slowly, the cat started recovering. After a few months without Nutro, we got our playful, energetic cat back, but he still has a very sensitive stomach, so he is on a special diet now - for life. If I could turn the time back, I would never buy my cat Nutro.

mixed with salmon/tuna/sardines makes a perfect diet for my cat with pemphigus foliaceus (crusts)
my cat was eating mostly dry foods and developped PEMPHIGUS FOLIACEUS (crusts mostly around ears, paws, face, etc. --> pustules and crusted lesions). auto-immune diseases are no fun!my cat, and cats with skin issues in general, need an anti-inflammatory diet (low in grain, potato free, rich in omega-3).along with the proper medication in significant amounts, my cat did not heal/remission durably until I changed its diet to WET FOOD. I mix canned SALMON/TUNA/SARDINES along with this food and it seems to operate miracles!my cat vomited often with dry food. he's now slimmer, in a better mood, looses way less hair and seems in noticeably better health.

Healthier alternative, pricey though @ the original price.
Love the packaging into individual portions, though they're still too big for my cats. I gotta split each "portion" into two smaller portions for my cats, and feed them twice with a couple of hours in between, or else my cats scarf it down too fast and throw up.The nutritional value is great too. It's a bit more expensive than what you can get at Costco, but it's healthier. My cats seem to enjoy them as much as the next wet food. I wouldn't buy this at full price, but at half price, I think so.

Great product our cats love...
I see one person had an unfortunate experience with their pet and this product...we can only say the very opposite. Our two cats have been fed this product ( from here or in store) for a long time and nothing but positive reactions.I’m happy to see Amazon is take their comments seriously and looking into this matter but I personally have a hard time believing the two events are tied together. Please Amazon, continue to sell this product for all the other pet owners to enjoy.
