A great insight into what influences us all
A great read and still relevant in today's world. We learn how we can influence others and how others can influence us. I really enjoyed the defense sections where we learn how we can recognize and defend against any undue influence.

Cialdini provides the professionalism and scientific rigour of Kahneman with the fun and accessibility of Gladwell.Having read an early edition of ‘Influence’ I was surprised not least at the difference in the sizes of the books. This book builds significantly on the contents of the previous editions.Cialdini is an academic, a practical field researcher and a master at translating some complex psychological phenomena in to accessible and easily understood principles.Not only does this book add a new principle ’unity’ that was not part of the original text, but he also devoted a healthy section of each section on how to identify and if necessary offer resistance to the principles when they are being used against you.There are a range of examples and anecdotes to illustrate the points being made. From there it’s up to you as the reader and you can consider how you may be able to make use of these principles ethically in your personal or professional life.If you have ever heard yourself say, I like people watching, psychology fascinated me or ‘why did he/she do that’ then this book could shine a light of understanding into your world. You may even learn something about yourself.

Clear, readable and interesting book which shows how persuaders operate. Well worth reading for anyone in the business of persuasion or being a possible persuadee.

Very easy reading about how we can and likely have been easily manipulated, but also gives us tricks and strategies to try and resist. Fascinating examples from history and modern times. Loved it

Good for business starters
Very interesting, a lot of strong research that can help with developing ideas for sales and marketing tactics. Would recommend to anybody planning on starting and/or promoting a business as this this booked goes into depth about human psychology and tendencies when it comes to goods services and buying habits in general!It is good in helping to avoid sales technique that is used in leading industries today aswell, with each section having a subsection on "defence" explaining how to avoid or approach these situations when you yourself find yourself in one.
