Comfortable and Well Made
You can't beat Sperry for quality and looks! Comfortable and durable. Worth the extra money. (Note: The leather laces will loosen unless double-knotted. That can be annoying at times).

• The grey color pops with a variety of jeans and tee-shirt combinations
This Sperry boat shoe is comfortable and provides just enough internal support to cushion the feet. But if you plan to wear these shoes all-day-long, then an improved insole would be necessary. The exterior styling is classic Sperry. I was particularly attracted to the two-tone, padded outer sole that provides more support than a single layer sole for a typical boat shoe (see photo). The grey color is attractive and easily works with a variety of jeans and tee-shirt combinations (see photo). A black belt is a good match when wearing tucked-in shirts. As a style choice, grey will invite complements as opposed to the brown and tan options that just hide in the background because these are worn by the majority of men. The bottoms of the shoes have some grip strips that improve traction on wet tile and stone (see photo). I've worn these recently during a foreign trip where the streets were frequently washed and remained wet. The shoes did not slip and I felt confident while navigation the many shopping alleys. When used during day-trips I will always wear light weight, low profile socks to absorb moisture. Yet, these are boat shoes, and wearing them without socks would be the norm.

Good quality topsiders
Like the notch in the back makes it easy to slide on.

Nice padded design.
I usually soak my Mako Topsiders in water then let them dry while wearing, to conform them to my feet. This time however, the top edge of the "transom" of the shoe rubbed my achilles tendon into a blister, which then popped. Comparing these new ones to an older pair, I found the new pair had a higher transom, perhaps 1/4 to 1/2" taller. Somehow, that added height contributed to my blister. I expect the blisters to heal, and the shoes to ultimately be a fine addition to my shoe stable. =============== October 2017 OK, now I'm on my third pair of these. I've had a moderate product flaw crop up: the thread stitching the upper to the lower has come unthreaded along one side, running from about the heel to about the laces... I'm not sure whether it's a thread failure, or perhaps a hole failure: the thread is attached at the front and the back, and sort of flopping as a loop running parallel to the shoe's length. I do like this model, with its padding and its nice color. I'll plan to wear these as long as possible, and ultimately will replace them with another pair. I love this design: it has padding where I need it, and the Oak color is a favorite of mine. It's a paler brown than the product photos usually show, and it fades over time to a nice beige. ---------------------------- August 2016, 18 months later... I just received my third pair of these, having worn out the heel (I tend to slap my right heel when I walk)... The rest of the shoes are in fine shape, and are now my "lawn shoes" for mowing, spreading fertilizer, light shoveling, etc... This newest pair are the same design as the just-previous pair. I had worried perhaps they would rub my Achilles again. But NO, they fit just great. Any new pair of Top Siders takes a bit of time to adjust to one's feet, and these were no different. But having wet them once and worn them until dry, they are doing fine. The padding is definitely worth the upcharge compared to the stripped down model.

Incredibly comfortable and built to last.
These boat shoes are incredibly comfortable and wear like iron. They’ve become a staple in my wardrobe, I wear mine constantly, and they still show no significant signs of wear or tear, which speaks volumes about their durability. They offer a classic, versatile style, effortlessly transitioning from business casual to laid-back leisure. looking great with chinos for casual workday and with shorts—no socks needed—on weekends. Even after heavy use, the materials have held up exceptionally well, and they still maintain their shape and structure. When these shoes eventually wear out, I won’t hesitate to buy another pair, as they've already exceeded expectations and proven to be worth every penny. If you're searching for dependable, stylish boat shoes, look no further—these should be your choice.

Great upgrade from the basic topsider
More substantial and stylish than the traditional original Sperry boat shoe. The old one seem to lose their shape pretty quickly, and not much support from the thinner soul however this style overcomes those objections and we like the finish too.

These shoes fit true to size, they do not run small!
I used to wear size 10 1/2 shoes, but nowadays I need an 11 1/2 in most shoes. Not for these though. After ordering an 11 1/2 and then an 11, I ended up with a 10 1/2, which is perfect. The shoes are comfortable right out of the box. The gray color looks good and is a nice alternative to the standard boat shoe brown.
