1st package received was defective but the seller took the issue very seriously and sent the 2nd package right away, the light bulbs are very bright as described, I liked it very much, the longevity? time will tell because i just had have it for a few days update: 2/6/18 remove 1 star, I had it for 4 days but already 1st burned out with light used about 1 hour/day, this bulb is very hot to touch at melt out degree to the glass cover within 30 seconds when turn on therefore I don't think it could be last long also not sure if it's normal?I am going to update again to see how long it last each time 1 burns out (pack 10)

This bulb has lasted 4 months in the Halogen Three Light Torchiere and Reading Floor Lamp that I ordered through Amazon March 27, 2015. After under a year the 175 W bulb it came with burned out. After that I replaced it with bulbs bought locally and ordered from Lamps Plus. They lasted about a month. There are several other posts with this complaint about that lamp. I give it 4 of 5 stars because it is not quite as bright as other bulbs. The price is excellent and the light ongoing so I am far happier with these bulbs than previous replacements.I continue to believe that Lamps Plus should repair or replace the Three Light Torchiere and quit selling it if the problem has not been corrected.

Just installed two from the pack. Both worked, so 2 for 2 so far. I will update in future if longevity is not as expected however, at about $1 per piece this is good value. I bought 10 because I had snapped about 6 in row from the store (not this model) trying to replace the lights in a std. dual work light, and I figured I might break a few more. I am pretty sure breaking the previous bulbs was ALL my fault, but FWIW this veteran bulb breaker managed to install these w/o breaking any so far. I don't know if they are sturdier, but I think its fair to say that they are not less sturdy than the typical type J bulb.

The first bulb I checked from the batch had a broken filament so was useless. The second bulb tested OK but the inside of the glass was cloudy, which means something is inside that shouldn't be there. The remaining 8 tested fine and were clear, so I guess for the price if these last a while it is still a good deal. I just put one into service. Lets see how long it lasts.Its now 2 and 1/2 months later and the first bulb I used died last week. The next one I used burned out yesterday after about one week of very light use. That was probably the cloudy bulb because it is completely black on the inside now.So if each of the 8 "good" bulbs lasts 3 months that means in 2 years all 8 will have died. A decent brand halogen of this type should last over 2 years and cost no more than $5 so these bulbs are no bargain unless the remaining bulbs last longer than 3 months each.Do not use these in a hard to reach fixture. Thankfully I put them in a floor lamp so changing bulbs is easy.

I haven't used any yet. But I'm sure they will work great.
