Review: I make miniature weavings and I spent a lot of time looking for a book to teach proper weaving techniques. So far this is the best one I've ever seen: so thorough, from start to finish, with many, many tips and tricks only a seasoned weaver would know, lot of drawings and illustrations, a perfect teaching guide. My weaving has improved significantly since I started following these instructions. Whichever scale you choose, use this book as it doesn't go into some fancy yarns just to justify the lack of knowledge of advanced techniques while skipping the important parts. This book should be a standard for weavers, beginners and intermediate alike. Review: 長らく待って届いた本のページが破れていて交換を希望しました。 まだ届かないけど気長に待ちます。

The description mentions the learning of Tapestry Teachniques. But the book contains no such things. You will be told about different loom, and which yarn to chose etc... But often it will not go into any details so you would be left with so many question. Nothing is really detailed. No techniques on different knots or how to get different rendering when doing tapestry (be it ancient or modern). There is also nothing new in this book. All the info can be found online. I do not find this book beginner friendly, yet very annoyign for someone intermediate too. As in, while it tries to teach you tapestry, you can see the person does not hav knowledge on how to teach. It tries to but fail to get to the point and you will want to fall asleep most of the time while reading. I felt I was going in circle. The books is not organized very well and the text contains a lot of repetition that goes around the subject without getting into it. It feels like the author wanted to stuff the books so it looks full of information, yet it does not and a lot of the content is "empty" words. The pictures are often very small and therefore you can't see the details of the tapestry. This does not teach you really to make your own tapestry but more present you to some basics in a very disorganized way and confusing way. I was recommended this book but I found it very hard to go through and read. I also am dissapointed what is described in description is not what is really talked about in the book. You would think with all the pages that you would learn so much but I did not learn anything from the book. Learning from a master weaver (with the actual title) or going online is a better approach.

Working slowly through the chapters which are well written and illustrated. Book is a quality product, made for years of future referencing. I rarely purchase hardcopy books these days but am very glad I invested in this one.

I am a fairly experienced weaver, who had never woven tapestry before. I jumped into my first tapestry project and had so many questions! I kept googling for answers, and most often Rebecca Mezoff's informative blog posts had the answer I needed. So I jumped on this book when I saw it was available. I can tell in my beginning tapestry project the point where I got this book and my work improved so much after that. Excellent information, clearly presented, great photos and illustrations. Well written, and well indexed also, if a technique from elsewhere in the book is mentioned, the page number is right there. I'm currently working my way through some samples to learn tapestry techniques and am very impressed on the way each new technique builds on what went before. I have another tapestry book that has samplers in it, but I end up referring to this book to really understand the details and nuances. I feel that Rebecca is sharing skills that will take me further on my tapestry journey. I want to say this book will have a permanent place on my bookshelf, but for now it is permanently at hand as I explore this amazing medium.
