Q: what type of metal is the planter? Is it just enameled? I'm wondering how long the finish will hold up to weather. Thanks!

I believe it is powder coated steel. We had a couple months of horrible rains where I live, and while other metal furniture we have rusted, these planters, which are permanently exposed to the elements, look brand new, not a spot of rust or chipping paint. Highly recommend these.

Q: Just recd planter & my brackets will not adjust smaller than 3" altho it says they should adjust to 2" which is the size of my rails? What's wrong?

I had the exact same issue. My railings are two inches. Contacted the company with no response. Ended up having to cut the one side of each bracket so they would adjust to the smaller size. I also bought new nuts and bolts to make sure it was tight and secure instead of using their nylon ones.

Q: Would this work hanging over a traditional black stoop railing?

It can hang over a railing up to about 4" wide. Mine is on a traditional wrought iron railing about 1" thick.

Q: Can this be hung up by using screws in the back?

Hello, yes, the brackets are removable so screws can be used to attach the planter to a wall or railing.
