You will need to miter the lid and the cabinet
This is the first time I have installed this. It is a very nice professional piece of hardware. It works perfectly. If one is to install it properly, it needs mitering. Not really a problem but be cognizant that if not mitered, the lid will not close completely in the closed position nor will the lock line up. I will use this product again.

Missing key and screws
The item arrived but the key and screws were missing. I called the manufacturer and they immediately sent me a replacement including key and screws. I was very pleased. The item seems to be of good quality and functions well. I appreciate the customer support. I’d buy it again.

Great kit, easy to install
Nice kit. Installs easily. Works well and looks good. I only ordered one key, thinking I could get duplicates made at the local lock smith. Did not carry the key blank. If you order, order with two keys. I plan to use this kit again on future projects.

Fit and function as expected
The reason for 4 stars there are no screws. You will need 7 #4×1/2" brass wood screws I knew at purchase time the screws weren't include. At this price point they should be. That being said, the install was easy, the lock lines up and works as expected. The fit and finish is good. I wish I would have purchased the XL size which makes the key hole lower on the face of the cedar chest.

No replacement key?!!
This product was great. After I installed it I realized that it would make sense to purchase a spare key. I wrote to the company and they do not sell replacement keys. Evidently, you MUST buy the replacement key when you make the original purchase. Unfortunately, I didn't notice that.I believe this is very uncustomary friendly. I wish I hadn't purchased and installed this item from this company.I DO NOT RECOMMEND this item for the above reason.

Good quality lock.
It ended up not being the correct replacement for my antique pie safe lock…but the key did work for my original lock, so not all was lost.The new lock was designed to lock differently, not the normal way…turn key…tongue protrudes into keeper. Good little lock if it’s design works.
