Smug Seagull

So I LOVED it!!I accidentally stumbled upon this book when I was working with my 3 year old daughter to build a scarecrow scene. In our scene the scarecrows go to the beach and fall asleep reading their books. So I needed a Super fun bird themed book for the little kid. And it turns out my own kiddo is a major seagull fan chasing them every week for the entire summer so this became a must have for our library. It’s very fun and clever. The pictures are really great. I like it a lot as a fun complement to the non-fiction Discovering Seagulls (Metz) and if you’re looking to create a nice seagull themed present those books would be lovely with the Cuddle Toys Seymour Seagull.I’m really thrilled I found this book. I’m sure it’ll be requested over and over again as a story time book.

I think it's a cute story that has a comical ending. The illustrations are cartoony. Quite a few pages are taken up with the seagull stealing food. To me it became too much of a repeat. But the story takes focus off of that and on to a little crab. It ends in quite a reverse from the beginning.

I bought this book, but hated the writing. Stealing is OK? No thank you.

Cute story giving it with two other books about seagulls along with a stuffed seagull

This book is so funny and the seagull character's hubris is great. Great humor for kids.
