Q: Does anyone know how much weight it can hold please? would it take the weight of a a4 lever arch file which is full with genealogy information?

Yes as the table has a good support structure. Would not like to guess the actual weight it would hold though.

Q: how thick is the work top

Table top approx 20mm thick, but the overall build quality is poor . The leg on my one has separated from the support plate after a few uses. I had to saw a few inches of the metal inserts to get it to go lower. Hence the reason I’ve not returned it. Poor quality product.

Q: Will this fit over a treadmill?

It would depend on the height/depth of the treadmill itself, but the table is height adjustable, other than that I cannot say.

Q: Will it hold the weight of a PC?

Depends on the PC? I am using it for a PC. It stands beneath the table and the table part purely supports the keyboard and monitor and mouse. It does this fine. I think space is your issue too, if you are trying to put it all on the table. I don't think it will all fit? Laptop? chech the weight as above and compare to the seller's information. I think it will take a laptop as they are meant to be portable.
