Outstanding McFadden Thriller
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 StarsWow. Suicide Med by Freida McFadden absolutely pulled me in from the first chapter and did not let go. The medical school setting is already high-pressure enough, but the eerie, whispered legend of one suicide a year raises the stakes to a whole new level. Heather’s spiral felt so real—her academic struggles, heartbreak, and the relentless pressure to keep up. I found myself questioning everyone right along with her, especially the oddly charming Dr. Conlon, who somehow manages to be both comforting and completely unsettling. This is classic McFadden—fast-paced, twisty, and impossible to put down. Just when I thought I had things figured out, she hit me with another curveball. If you love suspense with a dark academic twist, this one’s a must-read. Chilling, clever, and completely addictive. #suicidemed #booked_this_weekend

They Can’t All Be Perfect
I have been working my way thru all of Freida’s thriller books for the past 2 years and only have one more to go (Brain Damage). Ive never rated one below a 4. This one gets a 3 (for reasons I’ll get to later). Having said that, its still a great book and I steamrolled thru it in 2 days! As many people said, it was too long and I didn’t care for the ending. I took off one star for the ending for 2 reasons: one, the epilogue covers all the main characters except Rachel!!! What happened to her? The second reason is Matt’s story. We assume he died, but there is one little part where it implies that he didn’t. (If he died, how was he telling us about his death?). And if he didn’t die, then—as with Rachel—what happened to him?SPOILER ALERT!!!! (Only read this next part if you want to find out what Abe’s “problem” is and save yourself 77 pages of screaming “WTF!!!”So I took off the other star for this: It turns out poor Abe has an eye growing out of his a$$. A real eye. And it blinks!!! (I’m not making this up!). But there’s more!!! He goes to a surgeon to hopefully get it removed and tests are done. The tests show that the eye is part of an absorbed twin. No problem, right? It’s just an eye. But NO!!! The surgeon won’t operate because one of the tests showed that the eye has feelings and can cry!!!! (I can’t believe I just typed that!). So our hero goes to a back alley doctor who whacks the emotional eye off. Problem solved, right? No, THERE’S MORE!! Gentle Abe starts having fits of rage, beats people up and almost kills his beloved Heather! (Apparently the eye was part of the “good” twin and Abe was actually the “bad” twin and the eye was the only thing keeping Abe from going over to the Dark Side). We do learn later in the epilogue, that Abe returns to his former sweet self, although we never learn why. (Maybe I should have taken off another star for that but then I’m thinking Freida should probably get a star for thinking up something so creatively preposterous, so the stars would cancel each other out)In spite of all of the above, I still recommend this book and Freida is still my favorite author in this genre!

Another edge of your seat psychological thriller (Suicide Med) by Freida McFadden.
Like many fans of the books by Freida McFadden, I am always surprised how she is able to hook youinto her psychological thrillers, which keeps you turning the pages. I recently finished reading this 522 page novel (Suicide Med: Enroll at your own risk) that is about medical school students and the strange incidents that seem to be happening too often. If you are a fan of this author’s books you may want to check out this one. I enjoyed trying to figure out various aspects of this psychological thriller.Rating: 5 Stars. Joseph J. Truncale (Author: Never trust a politician: A critical essay about politics and politicians).

Ophthalmology twist is worth the read
One part in this book is so gross and disturbing I had to put it down for a minute. I felt like I wanted to throw up. I Googled to make sure it's a true thing. It IS a true thing that is not only vile but nauseating to think about. I like that Freida McFadden is a PHD because she writes about some shockingly gruesome medical stuff 😂

Light reading
I really enjoyed the story and the premise behind this book. Disclaimer I am not a physician or a resident. I am however, a registered nurse and a common theme on any of this author's medically based novels, she portrays the residents and or medical students as very ignorant. I have worked with many doctor's and residents as a nurse, and in real life they know more than her portral of they characters in this book. Glad to get that off my chest. Other than this bugaboo for me. I found this book full of surprises, full of twists and turns. The ending as very shocking. In Freda's books it is always the person you are to least likely expect. I love this author's works, I have almost read every single one. You will not be able to put this page turner down. I felt as though I was on the edge of my seat while reading. You have me hooked. Can't wait for your new ones, since I have read almost everything this author has written. Keep them coming! Thank you for an awesome read!

Another Freida Success
Freida has done it again, yet another book that was hard to put down and easy to finish. I wasn’t sure at first, and it’s the last book I had of hers to read! But she delivered again with a tale of medical school students, and from each of their perspectives. The change in character perspectives doesn’t change from chapter to chapter, but in chapter groupings. Very easy to follow. Heather, Mason, Abe, Rachel, and Ginny are all in the same cadaver group in Dr. Conlon’s anatomy lab. This medical school has a reputation that is scary. for the last few years, there has been a student that has unalived themselves. Why is this happening? Is this a curse? Will it happen again? Join these five first year students, and their professor, as they navigate Southside Medical School.
