I have no idea whether or not the center of these are actually like a tooth paste. But our little senior Morkie likes them. However, she only has about 6 teeth left. She had bad periodontal disease when we got her. Since then she gets a cleaning every 6 months to ensure she gets to keep the ones she's got left. She WILL NOT allow us in her mouth with a tooth brush or a finger brush. She doesn't like the taste of doggie toothpaste, so we decided to try these. She wants to eat it, but they are SO very hard, and big for her mouth. She wants me to cut it up for her. And I worry she could break a tooth. If I cut it in fourths she will just swallow it whole because it's that hard. I think these are not great for little dogs without all their teeth, or teeth that aren't strong ones. But for younger, medium and bigger sized dogs with bigger mouths they would probably be perfect. Again, how can we even know there is anything more to these pieces to clean other than biting through their hardness, is a mystery to me.

I’ve been ordering these consistently for a few years now for my little yorkie. I cut them into 4 pieces so it would be easier to eat. I would have given 5 stars but the last 3 bags I bought had little or no toothpaste center so really it’s NOT brushless toothpaste! The image includes 2 pieces of what they are supposed to look like and 8 bad ones. My dog won’t eat them. I guess they are too hard for him without the toothpaste.

My dog absolutely loves these. He knows he gets one mid-morning and another mid-afternoon, and I have no opportunity to forget to give them to him, as he reminds me sternly. They really do keep his teeth clean. He is a 7 lb. Chihuahua, and small dogs just generally have problems with their teeth. With these and getting his teeth cleaned one a year, he has kept all his teeth, and they are in good shape.

I have a 7 lb Deer Head Chi, her teeth are tiny tiny tiny. These are soooo hard! No seriiusly, I got pliers and had to squeeze (with some force, I might add) and break these up into crumbs. Too, there is way too much red food coloring, that is completely unnecessary and not good for pet health. When she would go potty after eating these her poop would have red streaks, it freaked me out at first. Then we determined it was these treats. They might be tasty - she ate them and seemed to enjoy them. They might help with plaque, but not as likely if I had to break them into crumbs.

Our rescue pup has the absolute worst breath, after trying these his breath is so much better, we can let him give us kisses again! We give him one in morning and one at night and have love the results! We tried a lot different products and this by far worked the best especially for the cost. The chews are on softer side but still have some firmness to them. We also like that there is not a lot of ingredients.

Great dog like
