These are growing in a pot on my back porch and are doing beautifully!
I bought this to make purple pesto and didn’t realize how easy they would be to grow. All that I planted germinated and they make a pretty plant on my back porch.

Healthy seeds
In one week seeds have grown. I just covered seeds with paper towel and sprayed every day with water.

Beautiful looking basil. OK germination rate, small, dense leaves
This is a beautiful variety of basil that has a pigmentation that turns the leaves and stems an opal color. They taste just like your typical sweet basil. This particular variety will grow splotchy - meaning green and purple. Some seeds may grow entirely green -- I'm not complaining, but I wouldn't expect green basil seed to be mixed with my opal basil. The leaves grow about 2" long at their most mature. While they require constant moist soil, they're very susceptible to root rot in humid conditions and require a ton of sun - so grow strictly according to the instructions and make sure you grow in a container large enough with enough airflow. I wouldn't grow single plants in anything smaller than a 2.5" container with this variety.I wouldn't recommend this for high yield or container gardening. It is something fun to plant that looks beautiful and can liven up your dishes, but if you're looking for a plant that will grow with abundance for constant harvest, look for a large leaf Italian variety.About 70% germinate for me, which is OK, but not great. I wouldn't recommend this variety if you're looking for larger or softer basil leaves, or a higher germination rate, and I wouldn't plant these in overly humid areas.
