As an EMT I go through a lot of pen lights most of them are sold in packs through to how cheap they are.I got tired of pen lights breaking on me , so I went looking for something better.This pen light has a real bright light that I can see pupils even with some light in the room.The handle has held up real well as most penlights handles break on the field for me.So if you need a penlight that could last consider this one,I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Inexpensive, works as advertised, delivered on time. Bright enough to do its job. Clip-on works well. Vendor e-mailed me letting me know it is shipping with contact info if there was any problems or concerns.I can't really find any faults so I gave it 5 stars.

It works nicely, the click on/off is very nice. One star off because the LED is a little obnoxiously bright. Just move quickly when assessing PERLA in order to avoid blinding your patients, I guess. For a nursing student, considering the price and functionality of this particular piece of equipment, I'd say it's adequate.I have not used this one a ton yet so I can't speak to how long the battery lasts. If I remember, I will come back to add this at the end of the semester.

I have always hated penlights. They are never bright enough, they're a pain to hold down the button to keep it on, and there's about 5 minutes of usable battery life before you have to toss them. Turns out, I was just using awful penlights. This penlight changed all that.I'm a veterinarian, and I work in a clinic with terrible lighting. This penlight has been a lifesaver. I am carving my name on the side and growling at anyone who even thinks about stealing it. My coworkers are all jealous. They cannot have my Opoway penlight. It is mine. It has a click on and off - no holding down!! Replaceable batteries means it's not junk if it dims or goes out, but no sign of that so far - even though it comes on in my pocket from time to time. So far, it has been very durable, even being beat around in my pocket, and a dog bit it the other day. It wipes clean. I use the ruler on the side to measure everything from masses to corneal ulcers. AND!! It's so cheap for the quality product you get.The best.

This review is about the product not the seller.I took 2 stars away because I originally bought this for use at work.It arrived on time and in plastic just the way I like my products delivered.This is a LED white light that's too bright for pupillary response. There's no way I would shine this in someone's eyes. This bright light could induce a seizure.So I use this at home when I need to see but don't want to turn on the room light. Sometimes it goes dim so I shake it for it to get bright again. Something's loose on the inside I can't find it to tighten this thing up. Then again it just might be the batteries rattling around inside.It's a good light if you needed to go up in the attic or even store it in your car as a flashlight as it's very bright & light in weight.

UPDATE to previous review: changing from a 3 to 5 star for customer service!!! After posting, vendor reached out and without hesitation replaced my penlight! Cherry was extremely pleasant and very concerned that i have the best purchase experience. Thank you! Just a few thoughts for improvement. I found that my penlight which I clipped to my scrub top would often fall off because the clip isn't very tight. Don't know if that makes sense but if it were made with a bit stronger material or perhaps a tighter fit to the penlight itself, it wouldn't slip off so easily. As a result, I've had to wiggle my penlight each time I turn it on to get a strong light reflection. It tends to start off with dim lighting until I shake it up. I use this to check in on my patients while they sleep on my hourly rounds so as not to wake them. Not certain if it is a result of the tumble it took when it fell off my scrub.

I used this penlight for two days before I packed it away with no intention of using it again due to three main complaints:First off, it should be activated by holding the power button and turned off by releasing it. Because it stays on, I found turned on while in my pocket. I kept bumping it and it would stay on, draining the battery. It doesn't take long to do a basic eye exam in primary care or the ED so holding the button is not a drain on my thumb.Secondly, the power button is quite loose and thus very noisy as I walked around. I found that I felt like a cat wearing a collar and a bell as I moved from room to room.Third, it is far wider than a standard pen so it will not fit in the majority of the pen pockets built into my white coat or pants.On the first day I used it, a colleague informed me that she too purchased one and stopped using it immediately due to similar complaints as mine. It’s cheap enough that it is not worth the effort to return but I will be looking for a better option.

Worked great with enclosed batteries. The LED pen produces just the right amount of light with a very concise beam. It illuminates the pupil without any patient discomfort. I cannot describe the reliability as I recently received the light, but it appears well made; especially for the price.
