Where Would I Be in an Evergreen Tree?

This book has beautiful pictures. Seriously gorgeous artwork with a wonderful poem describing the areas of the forest and the animals that live there. This is going to be a classic in my house because I love to read this book and my children love to listen.

I am 72 years old. I bought this book for myself...for the child in me it brought forth.The story is magical. The illustrations in this book are beautiful and will pull you into the story of this tree in the forest and all the life it supports. Again, magical. I love it.

WOW! This book really embodies the northwest wildlife and heritage. My grandchildren love this book. Can't get enough, we usually have to read it through twice as they love the pictures of the various animals. So glad I purchased this book!

Wonderful book

For those who enjoyed the first book "Where Do I Sleep" by this author & illustrator team, this second book is a lovely sequel.The artwork is beautiful. The colors are deep as the northwest forest they describe and successfully evoke its atmosphere. The illustrations are more developed than the first book and though not literal in representation, they do illustrate successfully the complexity of the forest ecosystem and give the feeling of being there as the mist rises in the morning.The writing, however, is the main draw to this book. Ms. Blomgren utilizes the same vivid imagery as she did in her first book, "Where Do I Sleep", while giving accurate information:'The Indian pipe with its pale ghostly whiteis fed by the tree roots and needs little light'or of the pine-white butterflies: '...they touch downwhere the sweet sun-filled air meets the canopy's crown.'I recommend this book above many of the children's books out there. It is entertaining and informative.

My 3 year old loves it and I enjoy reading it. Beautiful pictures and the text is like poetry or song lyrics. We really like being able to find things we saw in the book while out on hikes.

The illustrations are artistic but accurate enough so children and adults can identify with the beauty and realism of nature. The words tell a great story for my grandchildren who are moving to Washington State.
