Azpects EASYJointHeavy Duty Paving Jointing Compound 17kg - Mushroom

I have used traditional Easy Joint a few times before and have always found it very easy to use. The problem I found was that normal Easy Joint just didn’t last on my driveway (there was a thin crust but then it crumbled) because the substrate was concrete and so was impermeable to water. Having read up and found the reason why, I decided to use Easy Joint Pro, as this product was recommended for driveways, when the substrate prevents water drainage.The cost of Easy Joint Pro is more the double the original but you do get slightly more product. It is important to read up about it first. I have Indian Sandstone on my driveway and the manufacturers recommended sealing the stones first. This is essential, as the Easy Joint Pro has a much higher resin content.I found having to mix up the product with a heavy duty whisk was a bit of a faff, particularly as the resin bottle is within the tub of sand and despite being wrapped in bubble wrap, it was covered in sticky sand. The product was easy to sweep into the joints and my only negative was the sticky sandy film, left on the surface of the slabs. I spoke to the manufacturer, (extremely helpful company) who told me that I should have rinsed it with a little more water but the instructions didn’t say this and I was worried about washing out the resin content.A couple of weeks after using the product, the joints have set really hard and the finish is very similar to normal easy joint. I have managed to brush off some of the sand with a stiff brush and I think the rest will wear off with time. The good news is that the manufacturers say that Easy Joint Pro will withstand close blasting with a pressure washer. Overall I’m pleased and would recommend this product but it does need more effort to prepare, apply and then clean up.
