Anchor Hocking Mixing Bowl, Clear, 4 Quart, 77993

I have used to make cakes pastry and batter. Love it because it is sturdy and deep enough to use a hand whisk without the mixture swilling over the side.

This bowl is great, just what I've been looking for.

Like a lot of USA-manufactured kit, this thing is made in the spirit of the Pyramids. I needed a bigger mixer bowl and this awsome chunk of tempered glass is perfect. I already own (inherited) a smaller Anchor Hocking casserole dish, the quality of which swayed me to stick with the brand for his purchase. I'm not disappointed.It can be used to heat or even cook things in, with the obvious caveat that it's not safe to use it on a stove-top or similar fierce heat source.

Strong and very capacious bowl. You do have to be a strong woman though; I hadn't reckoned up how heavy it would be carrying piping hot from the oven when cooking a full pot of vegetables in it. However it amply meets my wish for a tall enough large bowl which wouldn't boil over and create a mess, and looks good when carried straight to the table for people to serve themselves. Fabulous.
