OT DEFENSE NUB MOD for ALS Holster

Are you, like me, stuck in a world where the only duty holsters that don't suck are made by Safariland? Are you, like me, hating the stock tiny nub that disengages the ALS system?Then buy this overpriced nubbin and fix the issue.Pros: big enough to ensure reliable draws without sacrificing security. Doesn't interfere with the grab guard.Cons: I just paid 2/3rds the cost of the entire holster for a small piece of machined (albeit nicely) aluminum and a .01 cent screw.I mean, getting a good draw could decide whether I live or die and $30 is worth increasing my chances. This company is making money hand over fist with these and will keep doing so until someone makes a polymer version for $10.UPDATE: So after thousands of draws and months of duty use the nub mod is still cooking. I put a tiny bit of blue loctite on the screw, and it hasn't budged. I just ordered another one for a new holster.I gotta say I appreciate how much thought went into this little part. It's perfectly designed.UPDATE PT 2: I accidentally got shipped a pack that had a right hand outside and left side inner piece. I called the company who CALLED. ME. BACK. As in an actual person took the time to call me, on the phone, and sort it out.So they definitely deserve every dollar for these.

This little bad boy is a great trick for thumb relief while using the Safariland ALS Holster. It is easy to install and takes no time to learn while using the same draw stroke as the original function. My only gripe is it is way too expensive for what it is. I bought 2 QLS plates and a QLS fork for the same price as this two part add-on. Bottom line is that it works great, but is about $20 too expensive for what it is, hence the overly-generous four stars.

I hate that I spent so much on this but it was well worth it once I installed it.

It should be a crime to sell those safariland holsters without one of these "Nubs". It fits perfectly and increased the positive feel when disengaging the retention mechanism.

The nub makes the somewhat-difficult draw on the ALS holster an absolute breeze. It seems rugged enough for hard use, and I consider this upgrade mandatory for the ALS holster.

Will be placing these on every compatible holster and suggest you do the same. Game changer for me. The larger release changes the method from a fine motor skill to a gross motor skill. Under stress, gross motor skills are far superior than fine motor skills.

Love this item, looked at it for years and was to cheap to purchase before. All I rock are ALS safariland holsters. After realizing the amount spent on other crap for shooting I said what the hell and pulled the trigger on this item. You won’t regret it, absolutely the best mod you can get for a safariland ALS system I promise.

Initially I thought this was overpriced but once I handled the product and installed it, it is very well machined and works great. Makes drawing from your Safariland much more smooth. Gives a little forgiveness if your draw isn't 100% while under time/stress. Great addition to my kit. You won't regret it if you actually run your gear through its paces.
