Q: Is this product good for newborns?

I’m sure they would love it! It might be awhile till they can press the button on their own. But I’m sure the will respond to the music and lights.

Q: we got this as a Christmas gift .it worked about 3 weeks. Changed batteries and it stopped again. Now does nothing???

Q: Is there a way to play the sounds without it turning off?

No. The timer is an intrical part of it's functionality

Q: Is it normal for this to have almost a motor noise with the moving display? I can hear it over the songs

Just used ours for the first time. I have really sensitive ears and I hear a motor/chirping noise when the animals move around . The sound is mild but with my sensitive ears it is like nails on a chalkboard. I imagine it could be irritable to a little one or a child who has sensory issues.
