Inkbird are the best
I have purchased several different brands of these controllers. Inkbirds are the most reliable and easiest to program.

Great for projects!
I recently bought the Inkbird PID Temperature Controller Kit, and it’s been great! It’s super easy to set up and works exactly as promised. The controls are simple to use, and the temperature stays steady, which is perfect for my project. I’ve used it for a few weeks now, and it’s been reliable and accurate. It’s a great value for the price and has definitely made my work easier. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who needs a solid temperature controller! I recently bought a 2nd for other projects.

Dependable, accurate and very user friendly
This is one of the many Inkbird PID controllers that I use for my home brew and to control various functions on my wood fired boiler. The PID controllers are all dependable and accurate temperature control , easy to program and operate. I mounted the controller in the Inkbird plastic junction box and used a switched receptacle to turn the element off at any time. The indicator light on the controller and switch show when the receptacle is activated . The functionality of the PID controller is endless, it can be programmed to adjust temperature over a wide range or a narrow range, simply to turn on and off or to adjust and display voltage percentages , amongst many other functions. An unbelievable controller for the money and the junction box makes a neat , spacious container.

Works well, but instructions need work
Works well. Instructions confusing. Also, the included probe is only good up to 400 degrees Celsius. For running a kiln, which is my use, it is not adequate. You will have to buy another probe. There is an excellent YouTube video on wiring this up. I highly recommend you watch it, probably more than once. I had no idea from the instructions how to do this. Also, the instructions say that the K-type probe is "faulty." This is incorrect; it DEFAULTS to the k-type probe in the settings. Seriously, watch the video. The title is "Wiring the INKBIRD ITC106 VH PID.

Working with me to make sure I did things right and following through with the warranty.
When I received this controller there was a piece of tape on the side that sad. "dad". I contacted support and they had no idea why. I did this because I wanted to have this info and I would let them know what happens. It took me a little time to build my unit. I checked my work and it did not work. I notified support. They sent me a diagram for me to check. I did so plus took a couple of pictured some volt/amp readings. They contacted me again and ask for info to send me a replacement at my request. They were very cooperative with my Problem. Recommend them highly. Roy

Works well for a single function PID.
Arrived promptly, everything was functional and no parts missing. After tuning, I am able to control my electric smoker withing plus or minus 5 degrees. There are a ton of tutorials online to help you tune the PID controller to your needs. I do wish they would have included some thermal transfer paste for the heat sink.

Great Value. Works well, I will be using it(and another) in my final build.
Finally got this set up in a temporary configuration. I will be putting it all in a box. I bought it for brewing beer, though it could be used for many other things. Tuned it the other day, and am well into my boil as I write this. I like the bright readouts, and the ability to change temps without having to open a device. Pros: Works great. Easy to set up. Auto-learning is a breeze. Temps were spot on. Cons: I didn't think about the fact that I needed a 1/2" NPT thermo-couple. My bad. and easily rectified. The SSR runs a little warm. Not that big a deal, I threw on a bigger heat sink and some thermal paste. In All I am very happy and will be purchasing a second for my HLT very soon. Thanks again Ink-Bird for another useful product that is affordable.

Included thermocouple reads very slowly
Controller itself works, but the included thermocouple is next to useless for many applications. It's very slow to respond to temp changes. Set PID to 60C. Using an inexpensive instant-read kitchen thermometer showed it overshot all the way to 110C, while the unit's thermocouple was only reading 75C and slowly going up by a fraction of a degree every few seconds. It took over a minute for it to move from 75 to 95C despite the actual temperature being steady at 110. If your intended use has very slow temp changes then this might be OK, but anything that heats or cools quickly will need to use a different thermocouple.
