Overall, I think mini desktops is an interesting segment and this BMAX machine would be great to have as a dedicated PC in a living room. You can actually mount this particular one using VESA holes on your TV or you could use a double-sided tape as well.Quick tip, the first time I used it, it was a little sluggish but it was due to all of the Windows updates it was downloading and installing. So, I gave it some time before actually jumping it and using it. So, if you do buy it, I suggest you do the same.On to the key specs. It has a core i5 5250U CPU with a base frequency of 1.6GHZ and a boost of up to 2.7GHZ. This ultra low voltage CPU is based on the Broadwell architecture and was released back in 2015. Having said that it actually performs on par with the newer i5 ultra low voltage CPUs, so no need to knock it based on age. While it is not the fastest on the market, it’s much better than the Celeron options that are out there.Ports: 2xUSB2.0, 1xUSB-C, 1xEthernet, 2xUSB3.0, HDMI, mini DPThe PC comes with 8 gigs of DDR3 RAM which I am not so excited about. Also, there is only one SODIMM memory slot.Storage: it comes with a 256GB M.2 SATA SSD. Now, I love the M.2 form factor for the SSD but as I mentioned it’s a SATA drive and not an NVME.Having said all of that do keep in mind that technical specs only matter to a degree. It really depends on what you will be using this machine for. You obviously won't be able to run the latest graphics-intensive games but if you are running office, writing some code, watching videos, it will work just fine.The first thing I noticed was that it came with Windows 10 Pro, which was a pleasant surprise. Now, why should you care? Just a few key add-ons that you get is Bitlocker (a Microsoft encryption system). So you can encrypt any drive or individual files. You also get a trusted boot (which basically checks everything that’s being loaded at startup to ensure there is no malware), then a remote desktop, so you can control your PC remotely. This is by no means an exhaustive list but it’s nice to get this out of the box with this BMAX PC.The first thing you should do after updating Windows is change the Power Plan. It is set to Balanced by default. I changed mine to Performance. Seriously, this not going to affect your electric bill by any noticeable amount.Overall, seems very snappy with usual tasks, e.g. watching Youtube (even 4k), office apps, email, some coding. These PCs usually come with core i3 or Celeron CPUs so pretty happy that I got an i5. Thumbs up from me.

My wife has switched to full time work from home and needed a new computer. She hates working on laptops and wanted something low key but very operational. I ended up purchasing this for her along with a 32" widescreen 4k monitor. Everything connected up perfectly into a motorized standup desk. She fell in love with the setup. Because this mini pc is so small and powerful, I was able to tuck it away underneath the desk and hide all cables in a clean manner.This mini pc is perfect for doing office work, school work, as an entertainment device, or general internet browsing. It handles all of the above rather excellent. Online gaming might work and get a tad difficult depending on the required specs of the game. I love that it has a USB-C port for power and connectivity. I do wish that it came with two separate ports though. Aside from that, you can leverage the HDMI, mini DP, and the other various USB-A ports for your peripherals. The price paid here on amazon is rather good based on other sites ive seen, and there was even a coupon for it when I purchased. It would be awesome if it came with at least 16gb of ram, but for what we got vs what we paid, its a great deal.

I have had a second computer at my main desk for years, pretty much only use it to stream while I am on my main computer. Sadly the old one is/was dying, just not working right. So, was a good excuse for the new pc, a little upgrade.Since I planned on just streaming, but would be nice to do other things, I figured an i5 would be more than good enough and it is. And of course the 8GB ram is pretty necessary these days. Best yet it has SSD for a hard drive. I also like how it's expandable. Could supe up this little box if you wanted.The computer is very good looking and it's so small. This one actually fits perfectly on my desk, where as the old "tower" had it's own shelf. Now I have to see if I can use that unused space. The footprint of this mini PC is awesome.It is also pretty fast. I have only streamed with it, but no issues what so ever. Hulu and Peacock play everything easily and it has good video quality. Can't say it will game, have not tried, use my main computer for that. It also stays on 24/7 with no problem. Sound quality is good also.My only very small negative, not enough to dock any stars, I wish there was an audio jack on the back. To make it more streamlined and less cable mess out front. That was make it as close to perfect as it could be.Could not be happier with this unit, works perfect, price as not bad, would recommend without hesitation.

Worked well for about 2 weeks but now the “video out” has failed to drive my monitor. I have tried several cords and all three video inputs to my monitor. I attached an old computer to my monitor and it works. So the problem seems to be the Mini PC video driver! Very frustrating! I will try tech support but am not anticipating relief. Apparently the vendor has a bad reputation for such things.Update - I purchased a few new cords and have found the HDMI connection works well. No further problems. 😀

I bought this for a kids room computer, mainly for getting online classes and some basic things. It works great and is able to play some games too. I'm very happy with this and might need one for every room.

Bmax started great then sound stop. fix it. next day screen started going black every 3 seconds after 2 days of same problem I returned it. Amazon was great in refunding my money

I absolutely love this desktop mini, after having a big bulky one for years, which took up too much room and was noisy because of the fan.

Just got this product a few days ago and it works great. I went head and install Linux on it with no issues. I'd recommend this especially if you're a student and you need a little PC that will run basic applications with ease. It's quite and when I did a stress test the CPU never went above 62 degrees C.
