Pacific Spirit Bar Shampoo for normal hair with Coconut Oil & Raspberry, Rich foam, Sulfate-Free, Soap-Free, Zero Waste, Vegan, Eco-Friendly, 3.53 Oz

Trying not to use shampoo packaged in plastic, I have tried JR Liggetts Old Fashioned Shampoo (does not lather well), Ethique Unscented Concentrate bar (does not dissolve as they say, does not make the amount they say and ends up watery - very poor value), Right to Shower Dignity Charcoal and Cotton (great cause, great soap, good price, not a good shampoo at all!), Acure Coconut & Argan (does not lather well), Cic Neo Powder Shampoo (just way to expensive, you need more to get a good lather than they say), Love Beauty & Planet Shampoo for colored hair, and finally - Foamie Shampoo for Normal Hair & Faith in Nature Coconut & Shea Shampoo (those would tie for 2nd place after this one).Pacific Spirit has been cheaper than almost all of those AND it works better. It lathers up on my hair the way regular bar soap does on skin. The lather feels like it's penetrating and actually getting to my scalp and then when I rinse it out it feels like it rinses away clean. I with I had tried this one first, I would have saved a lot of money and annoyance.If it helps anybody figure out if this will work for them - I am white and my hair is medium thick and wavy but also horribly over colored/processed (I have bleached and dyed it a LOT). Otherwise it's normal - not particularly oily or dry.Since I wrote this I tried the Apricot for dry hair as well - it is even better and this is still the cheapest shampoo bar you can find. Forget all those expensive ones!Edit: they are not the cheapest anymore and more than once my order is delayed and delayed. Good product but that doesn't matter when you can't actually buy it. I'll have to find another shampoo.

Here’s my take.Lather: I tried lathering it up in my hands first, but didn’t get enough suds. So I rubbed the bar directly on my hair and that worked much better (see picture for lather results). I probably need to rub a little less vigorously because it tangled my hair a little. Good thing I have short hair.Scent: I noticed a fruity (raspberry?) scent when I first opened the package, but after rinsing my hair didn’t notice any remaining scent. So that’s a plus for me as I am sometimes scent-sensitive.This bar is meant for normal to slightly oily hair, so I thought it would be okay…but it did leave my hair a little drier than I’d like. Nothing conditioner won’t fix. I prefer to be cleaner/drier and not weighed down with oil, so I’m good with this. I may try the other version that has Argan Oil, and see if that’s more moisturizing without being oily.Overall, a big win for me. At 4.99 (as of /24/2020) this is a great deal for a shampoo bar. I have been using this shampoo bar for a couple of months on and off. It does take time to get use to using a bar over bottled shampoo but... challenge accepted! The scent is strong when you open the cardboard packaging but it wears off and you don't really notice it when using it and I don't find that it lingers. As with most shampoo bars, keep it dry in between uses. My scalp took a little while to cozy up to this bar, but it's been a match since then! This bar is gentle enough for daily use, btw. The lather is good enough for me and it suds up quickly. I can't wait to use these as stocking-stuffers for Christmas!!!I use to work as a sea turtle biologist and was disheartened by the endless plastic choking our wildlife and wildplaces. Thank you Pacific Spirit for being a brand I can look up to! <3 <3 <3

I've tried so many different shampoo bars (and I like to change it up once in a while), and this one just totally blew me away. After my last shampoo bar left my hair dry and stringy, this bar has fixed EVERYTHING! It lathers really well, creating soft, luscious foam, and makes my hair shiny and soft. The smell is really nice too. I've brought my whole household (and friends outside of it) on board the shampoo-bar train. Cheers to saving the planet (at least a little bit), one less shampoo bottle at a time!

Switched from "body wash" to bar soap some time ago. Couldn't stand all the plastic containers. What? People to lazy to use a washcloth to lather up? Was thinking about bar shampoo, but hesitant if it could do a good job. BINGO! too a chance on your product and couldn't be happier. Not only does my hair feel perfectly clean, the shampoo doesn't take out the little bit of natural wave I have the way the liquid did, and the texture is better too. THANK YOU
