Rat on a Stick
I have the whole collection of these type and the knock down targets. These are not as much fun as in they do not tip over when hit, BUT you don't have to run strings for resetting them either. This is why I use the "auto reset" type. Love the reducible apertures on these targets. You can't always get 40 yards of range where the targets aren't blocked by vegetation. After the yellow is all lead covered, I repaint the whole target. You can be lazy and just spray the target flat black and the bullseye yellow, or repaint them like the European style field targets. I'm not that arty, but my girl friend is. Quick to set up. Easy to use. If they aren't resetting right make sure he target isn't leaning back too much or forward too much. Failure to reset is usually from misses knocking the target back so when the bullseye is popped back up it falls or bounces, back down again.

Understand what you are buying.
Be sure to understand what you are buying, the yellow disk behind the rat is what falls when hit, not the body of the rat. This may make the target a little less satisfying to hit for some shooters. On some similar targets the entire silhouette falls down when the target disk is hit. But at least with this target you do not need a string to reset it, so it is a trade off. The resetting mechanism works fairly well, sometimes you may need to hit it more than once, but it is pretty reliable. The metal is thick, and it holds up to PCP airguns. Realize you will need to repaint the disks from time to time.

Great for shooting pellet guns!
This target works as described, allowing the target to be reset without having to manually reset it each time. As your skill improves there are smaller apertures to make it more challenging. It is well made and heavy enough for years of fun. The bullseye will need touched up which is to be expected as it is repeatedly hit. A simple can of high viz spray paint or stickers takes care of that. Note: It is intended only for lead pellets and not alloy ones.
