My pocket size G-Drive Mini has served me well. At first I was able to power it directly through its FireWire port, so I didn't use the power adapter and it got mislaid, But with the changes in technology new Mac computers don't have FireWire any more and the mini USB 2.0 port isn't powered. This power adapter does the job and my G-Drive is back in business. What's more, it comes with the two sizes of plugs used with the 2.5" disk drives, so it can be used with other small drives I own. Very handy!
