A Unique Gift That Will Be Treasured For A Lifetime
I initially purchased several of these books for myself (I am 45) , because they are brilliant and adorable. I use the excuse that they are for my future grandchildren. Lol They are such great keepsakes for any age. I receive so many compliments on them from adults, and I have gifted Elton John, Prince, etc. to several adult friends. My collection is growing. They are of amazing quality and the illustrations are so creative. I adore these books!

great way to learn about idols, heros, and generally amazing people
i learned some tidbits i wasnt aware of and i love it. ultimately i got this though for a friend that loves MJ, the G.O.A.T. as a little add for his collection of things. it's a super quick little read and a nice way to know a bit more about Michael Jordan's story. the art is great, the words easy to read for the old and young alike. i think it's a necessity for any fan.

Very high-level, ultra-positive book for kids
As are all Little People books, this Michael Jordan version is nicely put together. It has a hard cover with crisp, colorful pages. As someone who grew up watching Michael Jordan play, I feel like this book is just very high-level, bordering on generic. It really just tells the story of someone who became successful by working hard and persevering. It doesn't really capture the essence of what Michael Jordan accomplished within the sport, but it is still has good takeaways.

Perfect for kids who are interested in sports!
My son loves basketball. And it didn't take long for him to have his favorite players in today's leagues (LeBron James, for example). It's my job as a dad to teach him the greats before this generation and argue with him who was better (haha).Michael Jordan has a unique story. Not only is he the greatest professional basketball player to ever play, but he came from a modest childhood in North Carolina and had to go through adversity before he was considered a great player late into his high school playing career. He didn't even make his Varsity team the first time he tried out! This tells the story of his family upbringing and brothers, who pushed him to greatness. It's a good story for not only kids but for anyone who reads it. The illustrations aren't spectacular, but they don't need to be.This is an excellent book for kids. Currently, it's priced at $15, which for a hardback cover book, isn't too much, in my opinion.

A little too positive about Michael. But still a success
My son has at least 20 of these Little People, Big Dreams books. And we love them all. They are very interesting and he learns about all different kinds of people (artists, writers, architects, sports stars, activists, politicians, musicians, fashion designers, etc.) Some are super famous (Gandhi). Some are not super famous (Zaha Hadid--well, at least I never heard of her before reading the book.) They are diverse in abled-ness, ethnicity, race, gender, sexuality, etc. All the books are very informative and I feel really teach my son a lot about so many different people currently and in the past. They all follow the same structure--telling the story of a renowned person from the point of view of the person as a child. In this story, the authors talk about the life of Michael Jordan. It focuses on his dedication to basketball as a child and how hard he worked to become the great player he was. There is a focus on what a great team mate Jordan was and how he knew he needed a team around him to succeed. But after watching documentaries like, “The Last Dance,” and you see how insane Michael Jordan was competitively it made me guffaw to read about what a great teammate Jordan supposedly was in this book. He did know he needed a good team but there are so many stories about crazy things Jordan did to his team mates. No mention of that stuff. Lol. He didn’t say, “And I took that personally,” once in this book. Still I am trying to get my son to try hard and not give up when things are hard and this is a nice story for that. The illustrations are colorful and engaging. My son loves them. He is always excited to see we've gotten another Little People, Big Dreams book. Overall, I definitely recommend this book (and all the Little People, Big Dreams books.)

Good summary of Michael's accomplishments for this series
This is only our 2nd book in this series and I'm already such a big fan! I got this for my 14 month old, and while I now realize the reading level is for a little older, it is still a really nice and encouraging story to read to kids. I've always been a Michael Jordan fan and I thought that the short summary of his life was well done. There's only so much you can fit into these short story formats, and I think the author did a good job. The graphics are good, not my favorite, but all of the ones for this series are very similar from what I've seen so far. One thing I have to call out that was kind of funny but also cute, is that Michael is portrayed with his tongue sticking out in several of the pages. I think it was done as a way for the reader to know who he was when other characters are presented on different pages. I'm glad we have this book and once my daughter has a little more patience with longer sentences and paragraphs, I'll try reading this to her again.

Ideal para niños con textos escuetos
Lo compramos para un niño de 8 años, pero le vendria mejor a uno mas pequeño, ya q el texto se limita apequeños parrafos primando las imagenes.
