Julep It's Balm Tint of Color Lip Balm - Canyon Rose | Hydrating Lip Color with Vitamin E Core | Natural Gloss Finish | Vegan & Cruelty-Free

For years I'd worn long-last lipstick because I used to work 8-12 hour shifts, 5-6 days/week. My priority was rich, fully pigmented color that would last all day without reapplication and that would not smear or smudge. The only problem with long-last lipstick is that it's very drying, so I'd sometimes have to deal with chapped lips.Now that I'm retired, my priority is moisture and comfort. No more need for the long-last lipstick. I've used Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer. That's a great product but, because my natural skin color is tan, I found the tint too light for me. It just didn't show up on my lips.Enter Julep It's Balm. I was surprised at how deep the color was--it looked like lipstick! But you can apply this without a mirror. I swipe my bottom lip, then the middle of my top lip, and press my lips together, and my lips are comfortably smooth. It's Balm provides good moisture with a welcome, natural-looking pop of color on my lips. Yes, it comes off with eating and drinking, but it's easy to reapply. It's non-sticky. It's scent- and flavor-free, which I love. I have one on my nighstand and one in my handbag. It fits easily into a pocket. I've never before seen a lip balm that provided definitive but natural-looking lip color. BTW, I ordered Cherry Wood Creme and Black Cherry. Cherry Wood Creme is a deep, subtle red. Black Cherry is a heavily pigmented blue-red that also stains your lips. When I want just moisture, not another application of color, I swipe my lips with the top of the balm--the vitamin E core. A little color goes a long way, so I can see where these lip balms would last a while.I think I'm rambling now, but I love this product. It's a little pricey (yes, I'm a cheapskate), so I signed up for subscribe and save for these two colors. Great product. I can't recommend highly enough.

I ordered Dusty Orchid Shimmer on a whim. I don’t usually spend $14.95 on lip color at this point in my life(I used to buy top of the line make up from department stores). I have to say this is a nice product! It’s worth the money because the color is great and flattering, it’s not sticky nor Does it disappear Immediately after you put it on. The color is buildable, but then it comes off more easily. It’s moisturizing and the color lasts if you don’t go crazy with it. There are several colors I’d love to try. But I think I’ll try this one out for longer than a couple of days before I invest in more. But if you feel like treating yourself to a nice moisturizing lip color, I say go for it with this product! I do use a lip liner with it, as with other, sheer Or moisturizing lip products because I’m 56 and my lip outline can use a little boost to keep it neat and keep the color in place. I used a neutral Sephora lip balm with it and it was fine. The color blended and didn’t look weird. It looked natural but finished in attractive way! I don’t like to include photos with my reviews, but if I was going to, this would be a product that I would take a selfie with (If I took selfies regularly and not just to make sure look OK and then delete the photo). I looked too much like my mom and my dad in selfies for my own comfort, even though I’m MUCH thinner than either of them! Too thin to feel comfortable with random photos of myself. Blah, blah, blah!My point here is that it’s a great product so far and if you want a nice product without going overboard, I highly recommend this. Even without trying it on, and only a photo of the color and some reviews to go on I took a chance and it really was worth it! Normally, I buy Burt’s Bees colored lip balm, but this lip color lasts longer. It doesn’t have the nice minty taste- In fact, it has no discernible taste at all, which I find unusual. No fragrance like Chanel products. No taste like Burt’s Bees etc. Just moisturizing color that stays in place, especially if you use Lip liner because you’re getting a little bit older or you just appreciate a very neat lip outline! 👄Thanks for taking the time to read this review and I hope it helps! I’m really loving the Julep It's Balm Tint of Color Lip Balm! It's the perfect mix of hydration and color. I ordered the color "That's Sweet", as it looked to be a perfect watermelon shade. Well, it was much darker, like a dark red, and it went on more like a stain than a balm. I'm guessing the lighter colors would be better, but I thought this color would be like a typical balm, which is somewhat sheer. I wouldn't recommend this color as it's so much darker than the shade looks online.

This is a perfect color. This brand julep/Laura Geller smell good, no funky taste, and a nice feel. This has the perfect amount of shimmer. I am really glad I tried even though I have so many lip products already. This is definitely a favorite. Thank you
