Q: What are the dimensions of the bottom? I am trying to see if my Bento box (5x8) will lay flat on bottom.

It is about 5x8 measured on the outside of the bag!

Q: Does this fit in the coordinating backpack that is 12” or do you recommend the 15”?

Hi Rachel - thank you for reaching out! Our Lunch Bag measures 8.5 x 5 x 10 inches and will fit nicely into either our 12 Inch Backpack (measuring 10.5 x 7.5 x 12.5 inches) or our 15 Inch Backpack (measuring 11 x 7 x 15 inches). If you will just be packing a lunch inside of the backpack, the 12 Inch Backpack will work great. If you want/need more room for packing additional items, we would recommend sizing up to the 15 Inch Backpack for a bit more space. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

Q: How strong is the velcro? my kinder is delayed in fine motor. wondering if he would have trouble opening if the velcro is really strong?

I would say it definitely holds securely but my son has never had any trouble with it. He used it all last year in Pre-K. (I also want to note it has held up extremely well. He has used it all summer for daycare and plans to use it for the coming school year as well.) To describe the Velcro closure: there is one long strip (about 5 inches long, 1 inch wide), it is not on the edge of the flap, but about 1-1/2 inches from the edge. Having plenty of room to grasp between the edge of the flap and the closure should offer plenty of leverage for your little one. Hope this helps! :)

Q: How about maximum weight to carry and velcro is not opened from heavy weight?
