Removes rust
Works just as they say it does. Applied to rust and washed off.

Only good for minor, horitontal surface rust, and does not leave metal shiny.
I bought this because of all the positive reviews. It took off only minor surface rust. I put it on, and let it sit for two hours. Only the surface rust was removed. I thought, OK, leave it on longer. I put it back on the same piece at 3:30 P.M., left it overnight, and then forgot to remove it until 7:00 P.M. the next day. No difference. Also, I put more on this second time. I completely covered the surface so you could not even see the metal. It did not dry out after sitting all that time--it was the same consistency as when I put it on. Also, although it may be thick, you cannot use it on a vertical service, or it all runs off except for a thin, almost invisible film. I tried it one more time, on the same piece, and this time left it on for 2 days. This time there was a slight improvement, a little more rust was removed, but most of the rust still remained. When it was washed off, the metal was not shiny as another reviewer wrote, but gray. It only shinned up after rubbing with steel wool. The rust was not that bad to begin with; parts of the surface being only slightly pitted with the rust, so this was very disappointing. I ended up removing the rest of the rust the way I was originally going to - by spraying with WD40, and using 0000 steel wool.

It works
After it dried I thought I had more of a problem now than what I started with it dried to a very gooey sticky paste, that I thought I was going to have to use laguer thinner or something to get off, but with a little water on a shop rag it cleaned right up easily without a problem.Does drip/run a little on1st pass on vertical surfaces, but not bad.

Don't expect to much...
Can only deal with light surface rust. Even 2 applications hardly made any difference on my rusted steel door. Better to use a rust converter paint.

Works and prevents flash rust.
Does as stated. Heavy rust does take time and several coats. I tried coating and leaving on for a couple days but in the end I found cleaning and recoating every 30 min as needed.

Better than Naval Jelly
OK. Better than Naval Jelly. But most of the reviews overstate its effectiveness on rust.
