Exactly What I Wanted!
I spent perhaps too much time researching easy-access single-firearm safes, and eventually settled on this one as a decent compromise between price and features. Liberty has a great reputation, and this little unit is no exception. It has a nice heft to it, opens smoothly, closes easily. The light inside is a nice touch, and battery install was easy for a change. It fits nicely in a medium-sized drawer. Recommended!

Great Portable Handgun Safe
When you need to transport a firearm and don't want to hassle with keys, this is the product I use. In fact, I have two, one for my dresser drawer where I keep my Sig P229 and some cash and a credit card. The other is for my vehicle when I have to transport it and I don't have a locking trunk. State law says handguns have to be in a locked trunk when transporting or a locked container if the vehicle doesn't have a trunk. This will fit two small pistols like a S&W 442 or a small .380 semi-auto together. If you have a bigger pistol like the Sig, then it wil only hold the one. Comes with the round keys in case your battery goes dead and you lock yourself out. But, other than that, the 5 digit programmable code and keypad work great. Sturdy as hell. But, Franklin makes quality safes and products like this anyways. Highly recommend over a cheap plastic box and a padlock...

Exactly What I Was Searching For
Liberty Handgun Vault - HD-100 - Quick Combo Vault I needed something small yet sturdy to keep my handguns out of reach from my newest family addition. As a new dad, I wanted something that I could easily hide and mount that was large enough to hold the pistol I've become accustomed to keeping on nightstand duty. This liberty safe was easily mountable, easy to program, and comfortably fit a full size 1911 with a mounted rail light and two 7 round magazines. I've got a bigger safe for all of my other guns, but this thing is perfect for storing my favorite protection piece and will keep my kids safe.

Secure, easy to use, LOVE the light on the inside.
This has served us very well over the last several months. I love the timed light on the inside that turns on and off automatically. The key pad works great, even when hitting the buttons rapidly. My only complaint is that the door rarely opens on its own when unlocked. It unlocks and pops open about a quarter of an inch, then I have to open it the rest of the way manually. Might just need some lube or something.

Safe is effective and easy to use
Safe is effective and easy to use. We have tested it out thoroughly for days to make sure God forbid we had to open this quickly it would get the job done with out searching for a key. It is also small enough to travel with in your vehicle or keep in hotel room while traveling. Would definitely recommend to anyone in need of a gun safe

Has become unpredictable even with a new battery.
Simple and small, should keep children's fingers off of the contents. Internal lighting is convenient.Things to know: 1. The audible "beep" tone is a joke to those of us old enough to recall when ear plugs were not required when shooting. It's a high-frequency sound which disappeared for me a LONG time ago. 2.. Absent hearing the beep tone you have to look at the LED light to confirm the response from the control board when you push the key buttons. 3. You have to take your time when entering the 5 digit code. The control board will not accept fast-keying, if you RUSH the keystrokes you get to start over. Not to get lost in this, I do like the safe, but some practice is needed so you feel comfortable with the correct procedure to get it to open every time without dumb-thumbing the combination entry.I did have one small problem, thus only four stars. The lid on mind would not spring open every time. I finally figured out that the upper latch bracket was dragging on the side of the lower release pawl bracket. This friction made the lid stick closed even after the motor drive released the latching pawl. I did have to bend the top latch bracket just a hair to avoid the collision. Now the lid opens every time without fail.4/30/17 added comment. The safe has become intermittent when attempting to open it. Even with NEW battery installed the latch mechanism motor will run but the latch will NOT release every time. Not acceptable. The key will open the door every time, but I did not purchase this with the thought I was gong to use the key. I don't recommend this device.

Good safe for what it's meant to do
People talk about it being able to be picked by a bic pen, but that's any safe with a cylindrical lock, it's their flaw. But it's a solid safe to prevent against smash and grabs, but also allows reliable quick acess.

Spring hangs
I've only had the safe for a week or so. I bought this to go in my truck and secure it with the included cable. I would have liked the safe to have more foam padding inside. As purchased, there is not enough padding to hold a standard full size handgun secure, meaning the gun just slides around inside the safe rather than being held in place like it is in regular gun cases.I corrected this by cutting some foam to fit and spray glued it to the thin layer on the top of the safe. The other issue is if the safe has been closed for a bit, even a few hours, the spring loaded top doesn't actually open all the way. Basically the latch pops but the top just hangs there for a bit before it opens fully. At this point, if you try it again it will open fine. Leave it closed for a bit and the same thing happens. This is disappointing because if I ever actually need to get into the safe quickly in order to gain access to my weapon, I'd like it to spring open quickly like it's supposed to rather than me having to wait or help it open myself!
