A little more than just a stick
The media could not be loaded. I purchased the HSU Extendable selfie stick from Amazon. I am sure that you can get something with remote control or some other crazy features if you are willing to spend the money. For $15 dollars I feel like this is a good build. In the box: Out of the box it comes set up to install your GoPro. There is a mounting screw, a tether, screw loosening tool and a holder for a phone that mounts on the pre-installed plate. In theory you can mount an SLR camera on the screw plate. Just remember that can be a lot of weight and I would only use it vertical.Uses: You can use this stick as a vlogger since it gives you the ability to do selfie videos and photos just like any other stick. You can use a phone or an SLR Camera. I don't see the point of using a full camera on this since it defeats the purpose of a selfie stick. I also have not tested it on a phone yet. I am sure for upright views it works great. My focus on getting this was for the GoPro. The GoPro and other action cameras are so light that they can film in multiple different positions including up, down and sideways. They also are fixed to the stick unlike a phone which is clamped on and an SLR camera which is just plain bulky. I also would not take my phone under water but that is where the GoPro or action camera shines. As you can see in the video it had no problem transitioning from above water to filming in a river or lake. The shots I took were just of me walking and dipping the stick in about 3 to 4 inches or water and I got epic shots. You also can get these low to the ground perspectives and of course cool views of the wildlife. Overall I liked the product a lot. It gives you unique perspectives on your environment and allows for filming at angles you otherwise could not accomplish. If you want to use it vertical then feel free to use the phone mount. If you want to use all of the features possible hookup that action camera and go.

Fun to have if you live near a large body of water.
I love to take photos and videos with my cellphone in its waterproof case. I didn’t want anything super long as I use it for shallow depths…beach, tidepools, swimming pool, you get the idea. I have a regular selfie stick with an attached remote so I don’t dare use that one in/near water. It’s telescoping so compact to pack and carry. To extend it, “counter-clockwise twist to unlock, pull to extend, then clockwise to lock.” So when you reach the desired length, clockwise to lock. To retract, counter-clockwise to unlock, retract, clockwise to lock.It comes with mounts that it can accommodate a GoPro, or compact camera, or cellphone. My use is predominately with my cellphone in its slim protective case, and the attachment mount can adjust for landscape or portrait. When not putting my phone into the water, it’s also great for recording at different heights for a different POV…right above the water, or ground; or reaching around a corner, or above.Advice: after use in water, rinse with fresh water and towel dry to extend the life of the product and keep rust away from any metal parts at bay.For the price, it’s a pretty good value for the amateur. If you’re a pro who needs for extreme use in the water, consider a much more expensive model.

Light and well built
I definitely recommend it. Most selfie sticks' weak point is the connection between the stick and the mount, many others have just a small piece of brittle plastic holding the camera mount onto the end of the stick. I use them for paragliding videos and when just grabbing the camera to tilt it back a bit I have had other ones snap right off leaving the camera to fall over 1000' and destroying it. This one is very sturdy but still very light, easy to extend and retract (even one handed while flying a paraglider) and when extended and locked down it is very solid with no flexing or wobbling around at the joints like some others do.
