downhill from here
Personally, i think the NFS franchise has slid over the last several games, and I'm not alone. I havent played The Run yet, but in my mind, the series was at its best with Carbon. VERY slick graphics (especially considering the release date), cheeseball (but fun) drama and dialogue, fantastic music (always a highlight of the series) and manageable controls (i.e. pick 'em up quick) all make for an excellent racer. Upgrades come quickly and plentifully, but the challenge is there - this "balance" is what is missing in so many racing games, the ability to dive right in with little learning curve, yet is still not easy to master. The car selection is strong, the mods are cool enough, the characters are enjoyable (if not over-the-top), and again, the sound/music is maybe the best of the series, overall. Its not perfect - later sessions in the game become almost impossibly difficult (for me, resulting in eventually giving up on the final race), but until that point, it walked a fine line between difficultly and enjoyability. My favorite thing about the game, though, is the inherent "slickness", from the menus to the chrome paint of the cars, it just glldes in and out of actions and cutscenes and interface screens like its on rails. It has a "look" about it, and its something more games need, that cohesiveness that more than makes up for the weak points. For the price, a must have racer.

This game brings me back to the good old days.
This game is as good as I remember it playing. Good soundtrack, and excellent gameplay except for the gameplay that comes after the end of the campaign. Stopped playing shortly after due to the long grind required to get every car in one save.

You literally can’t go wrong with the OG Ride or Die Neville
I’ve always really liked this game. So much fun and customization options

Solid sequel to Most Wanted
Need for Speed: Carbon lives up to its hype and provides a unique experience different from all the other NFS games. Allowing you to hire drivers to assist you in different ways during your race, and boss races are set on dangerous mountain roads where your race could end with one simple mistake sending you flying off the edge. The driving physics are not too different from Most Wanted, although unfortunately the police chases, one of Most Wanted's best features, are not as exciting in Carbon. I enjoyed gaining control of the different areas by winning races and defeating bosses, the car list is good and the game introduces Autosculpt, a feature that allows you to customize the dimensions of different parts of the car, 'sculpting' your car to your preference. Overall, I loved NFS Carbon, and although it is not quite on the level of its predecessor, it most certainly is a solid racing game on its own.

Still Sealed?!?
Can't believe I Amazon had sealed copies of this game!! Was waxing nostalgic for this and tried looking for it. eBay has used copies and release trolls everywhere soni tried giving Amazon a shot! Couldn't believe my eyes that a seller had sealed copies. Game looks great and still holds up. Graphics look good considering it's age. Still plenty of fun to be had on the PS3!
