Boots are nice. Width could be wider as I don't think they are a true 4E. Biggest complaint that there isn't a tab on the back of the boot to pull them on. Maybe it will get easier to put on as they break in but for now it is fairly tough getting on. Also didn't like how they lace all the way up through eyelets. Rather would have liked the last two eyelets at the top be "C" eyelets where you just put the shoestring in from the side and not through an actual eyelet hole. Would make for faster putting on and taking off. Will not buy these again. Should have stuck with tried and true boots I have bought in the past.Propet makes a much better boot for almost half the cost.

These are junk. I can't believe that New Balance would put their name on them. I have been a fan of their shoes for a long time but from here on out I will look carefully and with trepidation before ever considering buying their shoes again. [which means not using Amazon to do so.] Too large to start with. I wear a 10D fairly perfectly in almost any brand. The uppers on these were cut so big that they wrinkled when I cinched down the laces. Wrinkles in the mid-sole [from assembly?] , D-rings a 1/4" too big for their mounts which causes them to turn [see pics], extremely poor stitching and frayed edges. Poor design, worse fabrication. They look like factory seconds to me and not what I expected from New Balance.

Ordered 9 4E: please only use this review if ordering the wide versions. The width for the 9 is a little wider than I'd have expected, but can be tightened with laces to reduce the issue (not alleviate)..and the length seems closer to a 10 than any 9 I've ever worn.Construction is fantastic thought the soles do grab snow/dirt/mud and doesn't let go very easily.For the record, I', thinking of giving the 8 4E a shot, even though I know my true size is 8.5 4E

Nice boots ,fit great,hard to get on but will be eaiser once they are broken in. hasnt been real cold yet so dont know if they well keep my feet warm .not really waterproof,socks are wet after wearing them for10hrs a day outside ,Really wanted a pair of Sorel winter boots with a felt inside but couldnt find one in wide width (4E).Do really like these boots.Nt

I wear size 13 4E boots. I need the width because I wear an orthotic for arch support. These boots, just like parent company New Balance sneakers, are some of the best I've worn for orthotic use. Comfortable, great tread, easy to lace, good ankle support.

I've had the boots for awhile now. They are great at some aspects but they are not fully water resistant. Walking in a 2 inch water got my feet soaked very shortly. Had torrential down pours during my work. They are comfortable from what you would expect from New Balance. Just now they are beginning to smell due to the amount of rain we've had. Keep in mind if i had not walked in the running water to do my job that my feet would been dry. They are good as long as you don't have to be in heavy rain streams etc

A good boot at a fair price...when on sale....bought at $74 + free-freight....add tax.....when regular price was about $120. Thought the inside-sole was rather flat and barren. Added a gel-sole-insert...made comfort much better...without adversely affecting fit. (Not wearing "winter-socks"....which take more room. Have tried winter-socks and they work..as the boot is broken-in more.....but a tighter fit). Need to waterproof the leather portions of the boot. Been in use about 30 days. Have not experienced extreme cold....has been usually near 30-degrees.Most of all I like it because it is the only boot to "comfortably" fit my 12/4E size requirement....and I tried lots and lots of boots before finding these.

These things are excellent and I'm buying a few extra pair. I usually wear an 11D but in all the New Balance I wear a 13D which fits perfectly which is interesting as Rocky Boots a 12 is a perfect fit and most dress shoes are an 11. These things stand flat and provide excellent support.
