Q: Can this work for the new 3ds?

If you want to connect the 3DS to Bluetooth headsets, you'll need a Bluetooth transmitter. Our model TX4 might be right for you, It can be plugged into the game player's audio output port and pair with the Bluetooth headsets to transmit the audio of game player. If your 3DS player can emit Bluetooth signals, it can be Bluetooth paired with BTR005, then you can plug BTR005 into wired headphones/speaker for use.

Sorry the unit is a receiver not transmitter,you should buy a transmitter to send bluetooth signal to your Bluetooth skullcandy headphone..Our store have good Bluetooth transmitter TX4 which you can consider it.
