The price is good for the value of what you are getting. This is a 110VAC heater that can warm small areas. As other reviews have mentioned, it's not really for heating an entire space larger than maybe 20 square feet. I work out of my two car garage and have this set up directly over my workbench area mounted to a stud on the wall about 4 feet above where I sit, shining directly down onto me and the workbench. Provided I'm wearing long pants and shoes the output is enough to keep me warm in outdoor temps down to 32F or so, where the ambient temp in my insulated garage gets down to around 50F. It does not really significantly raise the total temp of the garage, however, and is rather ineffective further than perhaps 5 feet away from the heater or so in my garage.Assembly was easy enough, took less than 10 minutes. There are really only two pieces, the heater itself and the bracket to mount it to the wall. Mine came with 2 remotes which is nice, since there is no apparent way to control the heater without them.

The media could not be loaded.  It worked pretty well for a couple of months. I used it inside the entire time. I live in Texas, so it wasn’t cold after March. Just pulled it back out today, and the switch doesn’t work. It was making a crunchy sound, and it won’t click all the way or stay on. I took the panel off near the switch and found out the soldering for the wires wore down. The switch itself is broken though. Even with the wires reconnected, it doesn’t toggle properly.

Product worked great for 9 months. Saturday a half hour after it was turned on flames came out of the on/off switch.

I really like the size, remote feature, and the install simplicity. However, it doesn't do it's job all that well. it takes time to heat up the space. It doesn't work in an open air space. Your patio should be enclosed in order for you to feel any heat.

cost v. quality

I have this heater in a 12 foot by 14 foot, screened porch. It is mounted above the screen windows, so about 7.5 feet from the floor. It is not intended to make everyone toasty warm, but to knock off the chill on days the outside temps are slightly less than comfortable for sitting outside.It works very well, but a single heater does leave cold spots, so I will need another one (or another two) for better coverage throughout the screened porch.The heater has three heat settings… 500 Watts, 1000 Watts and 1500 Watts. These settings represent 6 Amps, 8.5 Amps and 12 Amps of current at 120 VAC, so plan your power distribution requirements accordingly. DO NOT USE EXTENSION CORDS!

Purchased this to help make our patio more comfortable on chilly nights. Was a bit apprehensive to buy when I read all the bad reviews about the switch breaking. But decided to go ahead and get it anyways. Worked great for about a month only using the remote to turn it off and on. Then suddenly stopped working. And just like other reviews it was the switch. Thankfully it was still within the return window so I’m not out any money.
