Easy to use and works great.
I'm not in the habit of leaving reviews, but this RJ45 plug crimp and fittings kit was just exactly what I needed for a great price. I was left with a number of RJ45 plugs to fit to cat5 and cat6 cable ends after an extension. The kit had the pass-through plugs (far better/easier than blind end ones), strain relief boots and the multi function cut and crimp tool. Could not be easier!

Absolutely fine!
It works fine with clear written instructions. I think for a cabling professional using it all day you might want to spend a bit more but for a jobbing IT professional or a hobbyist who just wants to make up the occasional appropriate length cable or replug some older ones - something like that - this is perfectly good. The included plugs could last someone like that years. It's so cheap you might even buy one just to practice. One thing to know, you do need to give it a good squeeze to get a good crimp. If you have a particularly weak grip strength you might struggle a bit.

Put plugs on Cat 6 and terminate your leads
Just purchased this to make up a few leads of the right length, so much easier to have the right length of Cat 6 than a coil of it at one end or the other, which you get when you buy an over long pre-made length. Worked great straight away, first one a little fiddly, but gets easier, worth check YouTube for tips on installing. Why did you choose this product over others?:For the price and what came in the set, it was worth taking a chance and I was very pleasantly pleased with the outcome.

Did not work well for me.
Firstly the connector supplied are rubbish, the clamp that pushes down to hold the main cable int he connector breaks off most of the time, to be fair, I wont be using these connectors and would purchase my own quality ones anyway but most people I suspect would buy this to maybe do some cables for home and so would use the supplied connectors. The crimp tool, not that impressed, firstly it cuts the cable ok on the side cutter but the stripper did not work for me at all and I tried to adjust the blade several times. The actual crimp part works ok to crimp the connector but cables 1 and 8 don't cut off properly meaning a possible short with the ones next to them, again I adjusted the blade as far down as it would go and I see other have made the same comment, to get a good connection with no cross connections, you need it to cut clean and precise which this simply does not do for me.Gonna try to return it as I need something I can rely on, maybe need to spend a bit more cash to get a decent one.

The crimping tool is good. The RJ45 connectors, not so much.
The Positives:* Love the stripping tool, which makes taking off the jacket off the cable super easy.* The RJ45 connector sleeves are quite good too.* The crimping tool works well, although I have more to say on this in a moment. The Negatives:* The RJ45 connectors are really rubbish. Shame.Review:I bought this to knock up some ethernet cables for the home so that I didn't have so many cables dangling behind the TV and the computer. Unfortunately when I got it I struggled to get a single cable set up. My tester kept faulting my cables. It was frustrating. So I wasn't sure if the the problem was the tool or the connectors. So I was face with the question, should I send it back or not?I saw a comment from somebody saying that the tool was good. So I took a chance and bought some other RJ45 connectors that seemed to have good reviews.I have yet to put together a single dodgy cable with the new RJ45 connectors. So the tool is good but the connectors were just rubbish. I've thrown away now the connectors that came with the kit, and kept everything else.I'm happy with my tool, but you will need to order other connectors if you intend to make up your own cables, so you might just order the tool by itself, which you can find with a bit of searching it out on Amazon.

Easy to use and effective - for light purposes.
Why did you choose this product over others?:The instructions are printed on horrible, cheap paper and in a very small format but they are simple and clear. The collars and plugs both seem sturdy, the crumpet is easy to use and effective. I have my study in a return room to the back of my large house, tucked in behind a massive chimney breast which blocks WiFi, I used this to make a very long cable to join my modem and a router and it did my job admirably. If it had been better packaged and if the instructions had been just a bit less flimsy then I'd have given it five stars - for the money. If you need a professional tool then you should buy one, mind you.
